Should fed.'s ranking drop due to poor performances or (eventually) due to age, whom do you prefer at # 1 - Murray or Nadal? For all my dislike of Nadal, I still respect his game a lot more than Murray's and think he is a much better allround tennis player than Murray (plus I hate the british bandwagon). Murray never leaves you awestruck either :)

I dont want a dull, slam underperforming player like Murray at Number 1.

And Im sick of Nadal being in the top 1-3 for the last 4-5 years

Id like to see Djoker as Number 1. No question.

Nadal obviously...

You'd be hard pressed to find someone who honestly thinks that Murray would be a good number 1.

Isn't this title asking precisely Fed fans for their opinion? To answer the question.I have no real preference,Nadal is much more accomplished and definitely worthy of the top spot but having a new face like Murray at #1 after like 6 years of Fed-Nadal dominance would be nice as well(I'm also one of the few here who enjoy Murray's tennis at times).

Im sorry...but neither one of them, when you think of a world number one you think about...Bjorn Borg! Mats Wilander! Stefan Edberg! Andre Agassi! Ivan Lendl! Pistol Pete! Not a pale counter-puncher from Scotland or a time-delaying Spanish buttpicker:evil: Id say Juan Martin Del Potro

You are right.
JBF,What WERE you thinking?:)

nadal hands down without hesitation. to be honest i missed him during wimbledon. he may not be my favorite player but its undeniable that he is great for the game.

LOL wasn't addressing him in my post, you can be a fan of Blake or whomever and a fan of Fed as well,it isn't mutually exclusive. However a few posters in this thread aren't Fed fans in the slightest, quite the opposite(they can't stand the guy)so I just found it funny.

Yeah, but just because you were beaten by someone lower-ranked then you mean that you can't be #1? Everyone has their off days.

i think he just said it because of the timing of the post and the end of the match. its just disappointing to see tsonga go out like that after montreal. the guy has so much upside and is one of the nicest people ive ever met that its hard not to root for him.

Agree with Djokovich at one. But out of Murray and Nadal, I would much rather have Nadal. I could even go with Roddick.

Bonafide Fed fan here. Between the two, definitely Nadal.

Personally though, I don't think he nor his fans care too much about his ranking. If he slips through the rankings, it's okay. I just want to see him snatch a few more *cough* dozen *cough* grand slams.

Isn't Rafa already number one ????

Anyway, I am fine with either Murray or Rafa.

I like Djoker as a person, but i can't buy him being number one.

I'd prefer it if the number 1 ranking continuously oscillates between Nadal, Murray, Djokovic and Del Potro. I don't have a clear preference between Murray and Nadal.

I like Nadal, but if Murray wins a slam and continues his impressive results, he'll be deserving as well.

I have a feeling that if Federer defends his US Open title, he'll hold the #1 spot for a while longer, most likely up until after the FO or maybe Wimby (maybe longer, who knows). If he loses at the Open, I can see him falling to #2 before the end of the year and possibly even lower after the AO. The surfaces coming up favor Murray, but at their best, Nadal is the better #1.

You seem to have forgotten the whining spoilt brat coke fiend that was john macenroe

Like others have said Nadal or Djoker.

Just cant like Murray.

I was in the hospital this past weekend and my nurse was British (been in America less than 1 year). She saw me watching the Murray Delpo match and started commenting on Murray.

(Keep in mind Im only going off of what she told me and everything is her opinion) She said that Murray is not liked by most British people. I of course asked her why and she said that the British value honor, respect, pride, and tradition and Murrays on court behavior dosnt live up to their expectations. They dont like it when he throws fits, yells and curses at his coaches, makes rude remarks, etc... Of course Murray has improved a bit of late but she said that the British dont forget so quickly and if it weren't because hes the only Brit in the freaking top 50 or 100 that he wouldn't get any support at all from them.

Thank you for the insider information.

Nadal, but no dominance, please. Murray, Djokovic, Roddick, Cilic ... I want number ones changing all the time, I'd love to never know who'll win the next slam. Tension and uncertainty will make tennis more imteresting to watch and to cheer for.
