To Nadal fans. It's time you admit it

Your thread is an embarrassment for the rest of us Fed fans.

I did bother to click the link, and guess what the second comment says:

Interesting - as a Roger fan, I've finally accepted that Rafa usually outplayed him in their prime and that they're co-greatest!
You've linked to some silly twitter comment. Just ask the mods to delete this silly thread.

I've been a Nadal fan for 11 years, and for not a day of that was Nadal ahead of Federer in accomplishments, but for EVERY day of that, Federer fans have been insecure. Federer is in the final tomorrow and Nadal is out of the tournament, and Nadal is still on you guys' brain. During the FO final Nadal fans felt no need to bring Federer up..... #OhTheIrony
Nadal is the last thing on my mind right now. Federer is all I'm thinking about with regards to the final, hoping he wins but also that we see some good tennis.

And Federer won a title in RG only thanks to Soderling. Just luck, nothing more.
Nadal won his Wimbledons thanks to 1. Mono and 2. Thanks to Berdych taking out Fed.

I am not admitting anything.

Wimbledon 2003, vs Mark Philippoussis
AO 2004, vs Marat Safin
Wimbledon 2004, vs Andy Roddick
UO 2004, vs Lleyton Hewitt
Wimbledon 2005, vs Andy Roddick
UO 2005, vs Andre Agassi
AO 2006, vs Marcos Baghdatis
Wimbledon 2006, vs Rafael Nadal
UO 2006, vs Andy Roddick
AO 2007, vs Fernando Gonzales
Wimbledon 2007, vs Rafael Nadal
UO 2007, vs Novak Djokovic *first GS final
UO 2008, vs Andy Murray *first GS final
FO 2009, vs Robin Soderling
Wimbledon 2009, vs Andy Roddick
AO 2010, vs Andy Murray
Wimbledon 2012, vs Andy Murray
AO 2017, vs Rafael Nadal
Wimbledon 2017, vs Marin Cilic

His biggest rival-pigeon threw away all his trophies.

Federer is player who thrives from special weak situations in men's tennis. Sorry, no goat there.
No weaker than all of Rafa's RG wins or Djokovic 14-16 period where he feasted 6 slams vs grandpa and pigeon.

Even if that's true, big deal. You bring what you have on the day. Federer was good enough to reach the 2008 Wimbledon final without dropping a set. The 2007 Wimbledon final proves that Nadal was very close then to beating Federer, after Nadal had played every day for a week while Federer had nearly a week off earlier in the tournament. See, easy to complain and make excuses, but you have to deal with what's reality in the end, not with how it "should be".

So, no excuses for both.

You just have to start practice what you preach, fakey.

That was in reply to the "lucky Soderling" comment.

No sane Nadal fan can claim otherwise. But there are some Fed fans who just can't get enough and need to hear this every day, otherwise they can't go on with their normal lives because TTW affects them so much. They just crave to see people who admit that Fed is the GOAT. Which is quite sad, really.

My post was a response to a fanboy. Your answer just proves once more that some Federer fans are the worst. Trying to prove Nadal didn't deserve his 2008 Wimbledon title is rude. He pushed Federer hard in 2006-2007 finals. And it's not like Federer was crap in 2008. He lost 9-7 in the fifth set. It wasn't a straight sets beatdown with Federer having no weapons.

Obviously this thread is a fact, but would have been better to wait until after's the final regardless. Nicer to rub it in after a victory.

Very true from you for once. And the reality is that Federer is a better player, more talented and achieved more than Nadal. Nadal is second fiddle to Fed's kingdom. You must accept this reality.

No it doesn't. It proves I am replying to a troll who calls Fed's win over Soderling lucky because he avoided Nadal.

That's fine as long as you are aware that the player you prefer is the second fiddle.
I think it's time for you to grow up. The more you hate on Nadal the more it makes Federer fans look bad and also seem threatened. But you will probably not stop, but hey I gave it one last shot so one can only hope.

Old news.

Call me when Nadal fans accept that he is not in any way near a GOAT player because his actual dominance has basically been on 1 surface his entire life. Not every surface like Federer and several other past greats.
Nadal is unquestionably a tier-1 ATG. The FO is a Major just like the rest of them. I'd say Nadal is unquestionably a top 5 player in the Open Era, and there is a very good argument to say he's the 2nd greatest player of the Open Era, despite Sampras' 6 YE #1 and Djokovic having more weeks at #1 and more straight years #1.

So yes, Nadal is certainly "a GOAT player".

What is it with a select few of the Fed fans here, coaxing Nadal fans into yet another argument?

Most of the Nadal fans are very decent and very respectful of Federer's achievements and do consider him greater, of course there are going to be trolls, but which fan base doesn't have trolls? And things change very quickly in tennis, if Federer were to lose tomorrow and Nadal goes on a rampage and wins USO...well, then many will use threads like this to add fuel to the fire. And you know what? It will be the decent Federer fans who will left behind to defend then.

I was talking about the current situation. And well sure things are not over, heck I think Djokovic will surpass Nadal. But I wouldn't bet on Nadal doing the same to Federer.
What you would or wouldn't bet on is not relevant here. When they are still close in the race, it is disrespectful to call Nadal 'second fiddle'. More so when he has owned Fed and everybody else at RG. Perhaps he won't finish as as great a player as Fed but he sure will have something in his CV that Fed never will.

You think they are close. I don't really. After tomorrow it could be 4 slams. Fed leads in WTF, weeks #1, etc, etc. The only thing Nadal has more Master's with most being clay. I don't see it as close, and I'll call it like I see it, thank you .

Yup, can confirm as a Djokivic fan. A lot of Fed fans desperately defend any hint of challenge to Fed's status even when neither Rafa or Djoker have been particularly close to his achieves at any point. The insecurity is absurd and results in just waves of stupid attacks against 2 ATGs they should be thankful they got to watch.

It's just an endless pathetic effort to run down 2 guys that should only be adding to Fed's achievements as competition

You can call it as you see it but you cannot impose it on others which is what you were doing in that post. There's a difference between saying "I consider Nadal as playing second fiddle to Fed" and "remember you are supporting the guy who's second fiddle". In the latter, you are telling others what to think. What makes you think you have the right to?

How can I impose it on others? By saying that Mustard must believe it? LOL, I didn't put a gun to his head. He can choose to ignore my words. But he is supporting the guy who is second fiddle currently. That is a fact. I have the right to tell him he is supporting the second fiddle guy.

So 'currently' is a new wrinkle you have added now to suitably qualify what you said earlier. If you did that at the outset, you wouldn't have to explain yourself. You said "he is the second fiddle" which is far more definitive and as if predicting how their careers will pan out from here.

Nadal looks like he could win 2-3 more RGs alone while Djoker is 3 back and facing a lengthy rehab or surgery, and that is your bet on July 15, 2017?

If that is your bet, when you gamble, I'm guessing you come home broke.

Well of course anything can happen in the future. But I believe it won't! Therefore based on my beliefs that Fed will end up ahead of Nadal, I can tell him he is supporting the second fiddle guy! I do think Nadal is second fiddle, and I do think Nadal will end up second fiddle. Dude, not sure what you're arguing here. I can tell him anything I want as long as it's legal! :) He doesn't have to accept it. But I can do it.

Yes I believe Djokovic will surpass Nadal. He already is ahead on most counts other than slams. By the same token you are gambling I'm wrong. I'd say you'll go home broke.

You're betting a lot if you think Rafa will continue to dominate RG aged 32-35.

OK maybe 2018 he will of course be favourite. But we all saw that Fed's baseline game fell off a cliff post 2012. Rafa's 2017 is same age as Fed 2012 so same could, and I predict will happen.

Even if I buy that, even I accept it, in this discussion, where does it get you? Nadal and Djoker are roughly the same age, and Djoker is currently injured, facing rehab and already 3 slams back.

What exactly are you going for here? Are you predicting that Nadal's baseline game will fall off a cliff, but Djoker's won't, or is it just a normal Fed fan knee jerk respone to the idea that Nadal might win more slams?

I wouldn't disregard Djokovic's challenge. I think he could surpass Fed. He has the resume other than slams (the most important component) for now. By contrast Nadal is severely lacking in many areas.

People can say what they want about Nadals achievements, but if he had several years on the tour without Federer when he was younger, theres no doubt he would also be on the verge of 20 slams, if not more. Nadal arguably has had the toughest era to compete with Federer and then Djokovic later on. Both Novak and Roger have had times when the competition was pathetic. Nadal has been squashed right in between the other 2 ATGs where one or the other was at their peak.
