To Nadal fans. It's time you admit it

What is it with a select few of the Fed fans here, coaxing Nadal fans into yet another argument?

Most of the Nadal fans are very decent and very respectful of Federer's achievements and do consider him greater, of course there are going to be trolls, but which fan base doesn't have trolls? And things change very quickly in tennis, if Federer were to lose tomorrow and Nadal goes on a rampage and wins USO...well, then many will use threads like this to add fuel to the fire. And you know what? It will be the decent Federer fans who will left behind to defend then.
They're unloading on some very specific ones (Bullzillion Accounts Army, 60s Weed, sureshs, "Politburo", Jim, etc.) but in a way that makes them no different.

To be fair, the Fed haters have already been flame baiting and scorching the earth themselves.

The reality is that Fred could very well lose tomorrow since Chilli does have the game to do it, just like in 2014, and no one should ever regard tournament winners as faits-accomplis.

Karma happened to 60s Weed, proving that no fanbase should ever tempt it.

Even if I buy that, even I accept it, in this discussion, where does it get you? Nadal and Djoker are roughly the same age, and Djoker is currently injured, facing rehab and already 3 slams back.

What exactly are you going for here? Are you predicting that Nadal's baseline game will fall off a cliff, but Djoker's won't, or is it just a normal Fed fan knee jerk respone to the idea that Nadal might win more slams?
I predict that by 2019 Rafa will be 33 years old and likes of Thiem, and other young prime players will be winning RG and not Rafa.

Similar will happen to Djokovic, but I think he can still win a couple more slams if he comes back 100% fit and motivated.

I already said that WTF has nothing to do with the slams. If you bring WTF then let's also talk about Olympics, Masters 1000, Davis Cup, etc.

Roger's 1 RG title is the weakest link in both of their careers when it comes to slams cause he didn't even beat Nadal to do it (and never did in 5 tries), while Nadal's 1 AO he beat Federer in the final. Nadal beat the best for his 1 AO, Federer did not for his 1 RG.

Stop disrespecting Nadal just to make Federer look good cause that's the only reason why I even bother to criticize Federer.
Exactly. Agree with every point you made.

People can say what they want about Nadals achievements, but if he had several years on the tour without Federer when he was younger, theres no doubt he would also be on the verge of 20 slams, if not more. Nadal arguably has had the toughest era to compete with Federer and then Djokovic later on. Both Novak and Roger have had times when the competition was pathetic. Nadal has been squashed right in between the other 2 ATGs where one or the other was at their peak.
You make a good point, but a lot of the time Rafa lost to guys other than Novak and Roger.

Murray x 2
Ferrer x 2
Tsonga
Gonzalez
Blake
Youzny
Post prime injured Hewitt
Brown
Darcis
Muller
Kyrgios
Rosol

Etc

Things in tennis can change very fast. Imagine Cilic beating Federer tomorrow and Nadal winning the USO beating Federer in the final and finishing the year at #1. Nadal would all of a sudden only be two slams behind and still five years younger. The debate would become hotter and more intense than ever. Stop being arrogant.
The chances for everything goes Nadal's way for the rest of the year is extremely remote.

I've been a Nadal fan for 11 years, and for not a day of that was Nadal ahead of Federer in accomplishments, but for EVERY day of that, Federer fans have been insecure. Federer is in the final tomorrow and Nadal is out of the tournament, and Nadal is still on you guys' brain. During the FO final Nadal fans felt no need to bring Federer up..... #OhTheIrony
Because you are a fan and not a fanATIC. ;)

If you think Nadal's achievements on hardcourt and grass are bad then you can't say Federer dominates on every surface. Federer's results on clay are worse than Nadal's outside of clay.
I think Federer's performance would be just as good on clay if it wasn't for Nadal. Besides, if Federer was winning the french open as much as the other slams then what exactly would Nadal's reputation be? LOL

This is undoubtedly a crap thread.
But you are certainly one to talk since you are doing your best to provoke fanbases here since you joined, along with the new chap who created that other thread, hopefully deleted by now.

We seem to have had a plethora of new joinees in the last month or so, who are creating provocative or silly threads with a frenzy, and going around poasting like they've been here for years.

It's only a matter of time these earlier banned poasters will be banned again.
Exactly!

At the 2004 and 2005 Australian Opens? In those years, that was peak Hewitt in terms of his level of play. Only the eventual champions beat him at the majors in those years.
My bad was thinking it was 2006 he played him.

Still, loss to Fed's "weak era opponents" such as Gonzalez, Blake etc

But just like it happened to Steffi Graf or Pete Sampras, someone will come along and pass Federer's total slams. But Nadal's 10 RG (and possibly even more) is something that will never be broken and really stands out. Sometimes history unfolds in an unpredictable way. Sampras saw most of his records fall because they were not as spectacular and special as La Decima. Only time will tell. Maybe Federer's 18 or 19 slams will be broken soon enough, but people will forever try to equal Nadal's 10 or 11 titles at a slam.
I'm pretty confident federers 18 slams and Nadals decima will stand the test of time equally

Yup, can confirm as a Djokivic fan. A lot of Fed fans desperately defend any hint of challenge to Fed's status even when neither Rafa or Djoker have been particularly close to his achieves at any point. The insecurity is absurd and results in just waves of stupid attacks against 2 ATGs they should be thankful they got to watch.

"Weak era"
"PEDs"
"Mug opponents"
"Slow surfaces"
"Fake Injury breaks"
"Pusher"
"Moonballer"
"Infidelity"
"Desperate to be loved"
"Fake"
"Humbelito"

It's just an endless pathetic effort to run down 2 guys that should only be adding to Fed's achievements as competition
yeah 'weak era' and 'mug opponents' sure are stupid attacks. Guess who was using them first..

Sampras' 14 majors seemed well out of reach around 2003. 2003 had 4 different major winners, one of whom was a 32 year old Agassi who won his 8th major. Ferrero, Federer and Roddick all won their first major. Sampras was well out in front. As for Borg's 6 French Opens and 49-2 win-loss record at that tournament, untouchable.

Not a problem. Nadal fans will happily admit that Fed is the GOAT.
In return let's not have anymore bull crap from Fed fans about how clay court tennis is a different sport, Nadal is a pusher and doesn't rank in the top 5 all time, etc.
Deal?

Hi Daniel,

the truth is that most (if not all) Federer fans use the argument about clay in relation to the surface skew, not to say that clay is not a legitimate surface. There is a difference.

On the other hand both Toni Nadal and Nadal himself has speculated about the quality of the grass as a legitimate surface (i.e. is not up to standard for the sport).

One should be precise when claiming things.

So why is nearly every Nadal fan I encounter constanly drilling about the H2H? Federer fans only diminish Nadal in response to this.
Because it is important when added to the fact that Nadal has won more than Federer since he primed. Nadal won 15 Majors In a far harder era as all of his came when two other ATGS were also around at peak.

That's the argument put forward by the likes of agassi and cash in Nadals favour.

Sorry cant as its not factually correct. Nadal is greater at the moment even when Federer wins no19 tomorrow.

If Federer wins USO especially if he beats Nadal there then Federer would be Goat.
Hi Jaelyn,

can you find one reputable source that agrees with you or you are deliberately peddling your own ignorant views?

Fox sports. Andre agassi. Pat cash. I think Serena Williams has said Nadal although I'm not 100 per cent.

Why do you get so wound up by all this? Aren't you excited for tomorrow?

I will need a source for what you claim in your previous post.

I am excited, thanks for asking.

Please don't make me laugh so late in the night, if I get hiccups there's good chance I won't be sleeping well.
Rafa's RG competition is no stronger than Fed's grass/HC competition. Not to mention the paper thin 2010 Wimbledon and USO draws.

Important in what sense? In favour of what??

Also I'm pretty sure Federer and Nadal played in the same era. You don't get to play each other 40 times if you don't play in the same era. Not sure what why you're spouting that nonsense.

1.1) Rafa is the clay GOAT (more like clay God)
1.2) Federer is the grass/hardcourt GOAT
1.3) There's no such thing as being the GOAT everywhere

2.1) The advantage of Federer is that he has done special things on 2 surfaces and not only 1
2.2) Rafa's advantage is that what he did on that 1 surface is so spectacular that Federer couldn't duplicate it anywhere

3.1) Both have proven that they are all surface champions by winning every slam

Summary: To say that Federer is the GOAT and then say Nadal is only the clay GOAT is unfair... Until someone is GOAT on all 3 surfaces then there's no GOAT... What Nadal did on clay will never be duplicated so therefore there will never be a GOAT on all 3 surfaces... What we have is a clay GOAT (clay God) and a hardcourt/grass GOAT... There's no clay/hardcourt/grass GOAT...

Now everyone please hug each others and stop fighting...
