Will there be the usual yearly anniversery sale at the beginning of Feb. this year?
Is Paul the guy with with the Vantage logo as his avatar?
theres another poster with it but yea. his name is racquetdesign i believe
yea, Paul is the one named racquetdesign... its not me
I could be wrong, but Paul did that sale because it was a 5 year anniversary sale. I don't think it's planned to be annual. We can hope.
On another note, I wish the site would update for 08 so I could apply for Team Vantage. I've been wanting to do that for over a month.
Actually, it was Vantage's Two Year Anniversary. I think they did the sale to clear out some old inventory, especially of the pre-built frames, because they were getting new models coming in.
Thanks, couldn't remember. Knew it was multiple years though.
I have another thread up about Vantage, but I'll bump yours up too because I'm finding them really hard to get a hold of. Hopefully Paul still visits the board.
feb 7 , 8 ..
Aren't their 'pre-built' frames exactly the same as their 'custom' frames? As far as I can tell, the 'pre-builts' are exactly the same material composition, sizes, head sizes, and molds as what they offer as 'custom'.
If that is the case, there are no 'old models', because nothing has changed in what they offer.
If there is a difference between the 'old inventory' that they sold off and the current inventory, what is the difference?
The pre-builts were all built to the same specific spec for a certain headsize. They've chosen different specs for the new pre-builts. For example, the old pre-built model with a 90 sq. in. head was the "VT001" with a 63 RA, now it's the "VT112" with a 70 RA. They sold out of all the old pre-builts within hours of their 2nd Anniversary sale last year because they were ridiculously cheap.
looks like a significant discount - offering 50% off
sshhh, tw will delete this thread too if we're not careful.
How rediculously cheap are we talking? I'm curious.
I'd rather not say due to the risk it may affect Vantage's and TW's future business. Sorry.
i have an email saying 50% off custom models
Yes, there actually is a sale going on this Thursday and Friday only. 50% off all custom frames.
Woohoo, 50% off!!
I'm very temped to try a Vantage this time, especially with this 50% promotion I just can't go wrong. Right?
Can someone tell me what the bumper/grommet strip is like on the Vantage 90 sq. in. frame?
It's unclear in their website photos.
Does the bumper end at 10 and 2 o'clock, as is typical, or does it run for the entire length of the grommet strip, like in Head's CAPs?
They extend all the way like CAP grommets, but the strings are exposed. Better way to imagine it would be a hybrid of CAP grommets and the Fischer Vacuum Pro 90/Pro Classic 98 grommets.
Are the bumpers still like these:
Yeah - in the photos (in post #21), they look similar to the Vac Pro 90 grommets - but the Vantage frames have an actual full coverage bumper at the top, whereas the Vac Pro 90 is like the Vantage at 3 and 9 o'clock all the way around (which results in scratches to the frame).
Those photos in post #21 are not of 90 sq. in. frames - are all Vantage's bumper/grommet sets the same design for all head sizes?
Yes, my Vantage 90 has the same grommet/bumper design, but the bumper is not as thick/deep as on Wilson frames.
Since I cant demo how would this racket play?
330 Grams Unstrung
12 points headlight
wow i dont know which one looks better the white or the black... both look great
i wanna get a custom 85, like a lightweight one hah
lol. You should try a 320gram 90 incher or something like that.
Can't beat the black with red grommets. Looks awesome...
