To those who enjoyed hitting with the KBlade Tour

As per my previous post, I've thoroughly enjoyed demoing the KBlade Tour. I loved the feel, the maneuverability, and the control.

However, there are one or two downsides to this racquet.

1) It is very low powered, which requires full fast swings every single time.

2) The 18x20 string pattern was a bit lacking in the spin department.

Now my question for is for all of you who have enjoyed hitting with the KBlade Tour and all the great characteristics it embodies:

What are some other racquets out on the market right now that plays similar to the KBT? Preferably, something that has a bit more spin potential and power but still maintains excellent control and maneuverability.

If you could maybe write a short description of the racquet(s) compared directly to the KBlade Tour and how they are similar/different.

I look forward to all your responses.

Thanks.

What strings do you use? The right string can definetely help with producing more spin and power. For example you can try a 17 or 18 g multi string.

I find it's got a fair bit of spin. Mine's fairly leaded up @ 362g and I strung with a cyberflash in the crosses and klip excel in the mains. I find this setup of lead and strings gives me plenty of power and spin, especially with serves.

Have you tried a Prestige MP? I find the Head frames have more pop and lots of control as well, even the Mids. However, if you want more pop and spin I would have to recommend the MP.

Mad iX,

From the other thread on racquet disappointments you mentioned the Babolat Pure Storm Tour.

Could you elaborate a little? Is it completely different from the KBlade Tour?

Most babolats are completely different from wilsons. I strongly disliked the kblade tour but loved the pure storm. it was the most feel oriented racquet I've ever tried.

what do you guys think of putting cyberflash 16, mains and crosses? I am not a string breaker so think I should go with 17??

if you dont break strings like me you may even want to go 18g but thats my opinion. 18g strings last me three weeks or so which is considerably good.

I also liked the k gut 16 that was strung on my demo. Some people say that a thinner string gauge best suits the racquet because of its tight string pattern. I might try the BB ace 18 for more spin or maybe the BB fluoro 17 gauge.

well if thats the case I wonder what you would get if you put 18g string in a Babolat AeroPro Drive?

Well the string would obviously break because the aero pro drive is an 16x19 string pattern. When you try a thinner gauge on a more open string pattern what you get is broken strings.

The Dunlop AG 200 has similar charateristics to the KBT.

I like having some lead at the 3 and 9, which I feel leads to more power for the KBT.

I actually prefer the KB98 to the KT. It has a little more pop and is more forgiving IMO. Still a stick that is about control. I get plenty of spin even with the 18/20 pattern. The KT just felt a little "dead" to me. I plan on trying 18g X-One when I restring.
