Today 40 years ago - the legendary final of Wimbledon 1980

Today, July 5, 2020, 40 years have passed since one of the greatest and most famous tennis matches, the 1980 Wimbledon final Borg vs. McEnroe. Borg won this legendary match 1:6, 7:5, 6:3, 6:7(16), 8:6 and gained his 5th Wimbledon title in a row and jubilee 10th Grand Slam title.

I watched that match live as an 18-year-old and it is something I will never forget. In my humble opinion way more gripping than the Federer Nadal final of 2009, and I’m a big fan of both of those guys! Best,BHBH

This is one of those events that people will always remember where and with whom they watched. Me: Cape May NJ, where I had a summer job working at a hotel/resort.

This picture is from the 1981 final it's easy to tell from the Dunlop racquet. McEnroe played Wilson in 1980. With that being said they celebrated this match on Swedish television by showing the full match. I watched it of course.
