To advance to the final, Haas defeated Andy Roddick 6-2 while Ginepri defeated former Vince Spadea 6-4.

Haas has been playing at a very high level.
Last year, Haas, the former world No. 2, finished with a perfect 10-0 record to win the year-long points championship.

Champions Series tennis began in 2005 and has featured 16 former world No. 1 players including many of the greatest legends in the sport such as Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Bjorn Borg, Ivan Lendl, Stefan Edberg and Jim Courier.

Interesting that older Mac has played many more years than Sampras, Edberg and Courier.
I would love to see Stephan still playing some of these events, I believe he stays in great playing condition as does Mac.

If those records were really that desirable then Sampras would be playing. I dont think Fed, Djok, nor Nadal are going to be playing senior events when they finally retire.

They were. I don’t think they are anymore. Change still might be. And I think Andre did it when it was close to home. Maybe they have other hobbies now.

A big Factor is health. Tennis is just not good for your joints and many older players are really banged up and don't want to ruin their health even more by playing through the pain with painkillers.

Honestly Haas is just a year older than Ivo and the latter is still winning matches on the ATP tour which is much more impressive to me, Robbie is only like 38, he should be embarrassed.

I don't think so. However as you get older the effort level varies drastically so training and fitness (and health which is huge at that age) can trump talent.

In the pro level talent prevails because everyone trains hard. But at the senior level some take it very seriously while others only hit a couple hours a week or even less.

If novak djokovic would only train 4 hours a week he would lose against random top100 players who train 30 hours a week.

Also at the senior level players don't always play very hard if they know they are better. That is why you see andy roddick wining only 7-6,6-4 against a geezer like McEnroe occasionally, no fan wants to see a bagle and breadstick destruction at the senior level. You are not giving matches away but if you are totally better you ease off a little on your return games and let the old geezer win some games.

Those fans watching that want to see tennis but also some fun,trick shots and verbal shots at the opponent, it is more of an exo.

i think it should be so you have to win a GS title or something to play on the champions series..
i know id rather see two legends play even if the tennis is worse
