Tony Nadal has been asked about the possibility of coaching Roger Federer.

Rafael Nadal's uncle, Toni Nadal, has admitted he would view coaching Roger Federer as a "dream come true". Nadal has only ever coached his nephew until taking over with youngster Felix Auger-Aliassime.

The coach admitted he believed Federer was one of the best players in the history of the sport, and that he wouldn't need any additional coaching.

"He would never come to me (laughs). He's so good, he doesn't need any help," Nadal said to SRF.

"But one thing is clear: it would be a dream come true for every coach to train Roger Federer one day.
"He's one of the best tennis players in history, if not the best.

"But I'm sure he doesn't need my help (laughs)."
Nadal went on to explain that he'd never even considered coaching another player until he met Auger-Aliassime.
He explained that his relationship with his nephew was "special", while declaring he believes Felix is a player with "great potential".
Nadal said: "I never thought about coaching another player.

"The situation with Rafa was special.
"I've been training him since he was 3 or 4 years old. He was always my nephew in the first place.
"That also had its advantages: I knew him inside out and knew what is good for him and how much I can expect him to do.
"It's not so natural with another player, but I consider myself lucky to work with an athlete like Félix. He has great potential."

For publicity's sake, they should do it. Tennis would be on every front page.

I find it very odd that Toni Nadal would coach another player while Rafa is still on the tour. FAA is one thing though, that player being Federer is unfathomable.

That article has been compiled from various old interviews with Toni Nadal.

Thats accurate i guess
No it's not lol. How can you be a better player and lose the match? Lol. That goes for both of them. Fed, you could say, is a better ball striker though. Rafa probably is the better competitor when it comes to fierceness. I think he's also said he likes competing more than playing. Man, I wish I was like that when I played sports.

Team Nadal seem to be convinced Federer is GOAT

You are absolutely wrong:

1) Rafa's uncle, Toni Nadal, said tahat Fed is one of the best tennis players in history.
2) The Rafa Team said nothing about GOAT'ness.
3) Toni Nadal does not belong to the Rafa Team.

I am never wrong. Uncle Toni is part of Team Rafa. He manages the Academy but still assists rafa by phone. Rafa team do consider Federer the greatest ever. They obviously wont say their own guy is as that would seem arrogant.

Toni said in October after Rafa tied Roger at 20 slams:

“For me, the best continues to be Roger Federer, he has more tournaments won, has more overall victories and more weeks at the top of the rankings – all of this counts.”

Toni Nadal is still Rafa's uncle, that's why he calls Rafa.
It's just your imagination that the Rafa team considers Fed the greatest.

Seeing as Roger doesn’t think he’s a contender at this year’s RG and not remotely a threat to his nephew, it’d been awesome to see Uncle Toni help with Roger’s clay prep.

Federer brand would go through the roof even more.

Also think about all the trash Srdjan talks about Fed. Team Nadal say the exact opposite and they leave Novak off their radar entirely. Brilliant psychology.

I think the families (Rafa's parents and Roger's parents mostly) see each other as kindred spirits.

Similar socio-economic class and values. Plus they know what it is to have a world class athlete in the family for a devoted son.

I don't think they share much with the Djoko clan and I'm guessing, even though their own son is not a target, it doesn't sit well with the Nadals that Srjdan constantly talks about Fed in a personal and negative way.

Well who else do they consider is the greatest? Certainly will not come out and say Rafa is will they. So is it Laver? Djokovic? Sampras?

Toni can only coach Rafa. “Topspin to backhand, no?” doesn't work for everyone

toni's school headmasteresque aura doesn't sync with fraud's inflated ego........partnership will be a failure of humungous proportions like his past exercise with jose higueras.........
