Too many staples in my butt...

...cap. So I'm trying to replace the butt cap on one of my Fischer Pro Extreme FT's with a Head butt cap. These things have an ounce worth of staples in them! I mean there has to be a dozen staples holding this thing on. I've tried gouging them out with knife, pulling them with needle-nose pliers.... nothing wants to make them leave the handle. Before I cut off my fingers playing with sharp objects, any recommendations? Sheesh what a chore...

I use a knife blade just "wiggle" it & they are out .

Small screwdriver (flat head) and wriggle them out. Much safer than a knife...

Yeah.. Just use a thin flat head screwdriver... just keep wiggling at them... knives are dangerous.. I've cut myself doing this kinds of things with a knife.
