djokovicgonzalez2010 i didn´t put him in top 10 because i don´t know if he can stay at the same level because he´s getting older.
i know that federer is also 28 years old but fed plays at another league i think.
but sure it could be that davydenko stays in top10

He also did worse than usual on clay...

o'rly ??
i'm watchin his clay court results and i think Q,Q, Q ,S, S, W,W, are pretty god damn good. He had withdrew agains Roddick (wich he wouldve won 90% in Madrid) and he also lost to Melzer in R32 Rome, but the other results are pretty god damn good on clay.

He did poorly in the most major events though, including a 4r (or was it QF) loss at RG, where he has missed the finals by a very small amount

you guys have Nadal at 7 year end ranking? Where is he going to lose a ton of points? He has a 4th round French open to gain and 0 points from Wimbeldon!

he will win 3 clay masters almost gauranteed, he may only get to semis in Aussie open so i could see him losing some points there.

at 7th ranked you must be banking on another injury 2-3 month layoff

1. Yes, he is likely to be injured again
2. He is defending a win at AO, and then will have to play much harder draws as #3 seed likely
3. He is aging VERY poorly
4. I doubt he makes SF of USO again
5. He will be a bit slower, so maybe less dominant on clay.

Davydenko has done poorly all the time in slams...it's not a surprise.
QF he lost to Söd, who was playing out of his mind that time..so thats not a surprise result..

he is awful on grass, so a 2-3R result would be fine for him.

I cant see him get past QF at AO and USO so maby 9th rank is a little bit harsh ( i'm not sure if i wrote that word right), but i cant see him above rank nr. 7-8 in the world.

If he gets QF in 2 Slams, SF in one, he would definitely be higher than 9 with all he plays... By tradition he should be 7th...

07- #4
08- #5
09- #6

psnelke doesnt have him in top-10 at all. He's not aging!!! I think he's coming to the net more to prevent aging even more...

He will never be able to rely on his net game once his baseline game deteriorates. He is mediocre at best at the net. He lives and dies by his baseline game. And baseline game always will start to go down with age. Once that happens Davydenko is screwed.

Only one in the thread who got it close! Congrats.
Everyone else had Nadal at #4 or #7 ha ha. Wishful thinking is soothing but it has a nasty habit of clashing with reality, doesn't it?

At the time the thread was made, if anything, it would have been wishful thinking to put Nadal at number one.
