Top 100 WTA player Beatriz Haddad Maia fails drug test, provisionally suspended.

Pretty big surprise this one. First top 100 player on the WTA to fail a drug test since, well, Maria Sharapova. The test was failed during the Bol tournament which was held during the 2nd week of the French Open.

Haddad Maia was having a great 2019:
Qualified for the Australian Open and won her 1R match before losing to Kerber in R2.
Qualified for Acapulco, scored her first ever top 10 win over Sloane en route to the QF.
Qualfiied for Monterrey.
Qualified for Bogota and made the SF.
Made a few ITF QF's.

And most recently she qualified for Wimbledon and scored a massive upset over 2017 champion Garbine Muguruza.

Can't help but wonder what Muguruza thinks of this given her Wimbledon campaign ended at her hands and the fact the positive test occurred before Wimbledon so in theory, Haddad Maia shouldn't have been playing.

SARM's? Apparently some sort of Anabolic steroid.

Not a great look for Brazilian tennis who have already had three other 'high' profile players face bans.

Joao Souza - match fixing earlier this year
Thomas Bellucci - 5 month doping ban in 2018
Marcelo Demoliner - 2 month doping ban in 2016

A 'failed' drug test doesn't necessarily mean drugs. It is entirely possible that she drank too much water and her sample was too diluted. Trust me, I know

So not many considering Sharapova played like 3 matches once her substance was deemed illegal.
