Top 5 matchs of the season so far

According to the logic of the ATP, 2 quarters of the season have been played after this Wimbledon. 2 remains. We are « at the middle » of the season.

In my opinion, 2019 has been a good season so far, essentially due to the competition induced by the lack of form of Rafa during the clay season and the return of Federer on it (this part of the season was more competitive than usual that’s why I mean).

So what do you think are objectively the top 5 matchs of the season. I would personnaly choose these matchs :

1. Djokovic - Federer (Wimbledon 2019 Final) : Don’t want to talk about it but it was an epic thriller until the end...
2. Wawrinka - Tsitsipas (Roland Garros 2019 1/8) : A great quality match with beautiful one handed backhands on both sides
3. Tsitsipas - Federer (Australian Open 2019 1/8 F) : A lot of tension and beautiful net plays
4. Djokovic - Del Potro (Rome 2019 1/4) : Impressive form by Del Potro just 1 week after his comeback
5. Tsitsipas - Monfils (Dubai SF) : Great skills from both men, on a fast court making them shine

Do you agree ? Honorable mentions to Murray/RBA (AO 2019 R1) and Djokovic/Schwartzman (Rome 1/2) also.

There hasn't been anything close to the 1st set of the men's RG final level-wise.

That set taken in isolation is a complete outlier, and easily the best tennis we have seen all year.

Its a shame the rest of the match couldn't maintain the momentum (an impossible task, I guess).

Nadal v Thiem was fantastic utterly brutal. The way Nadal changed tactics at end of 2nd set showed why he is a true all court great as he had that versatility to change it from a slug fest that Thiemhas yet to develop. As a big fan of Thiem I hope he does develop more variety.

Agree totally. I like Thiem, too. Future multi RG winner and US Open winner imo.

Watching the way Nadal used all that space on Chartrier, and the way he works every inch of that court, and seeing how he eventually broke that match open.... There's nothing like it for me as a clay fan. Incredible.

I know it sounds awful on paper, but Nishikori Karlovic At AO19 was the most entertaining match of the year for me.
