Monaco, Youzhny, Melzer, Tipsarevic? These aren't really top players, other then that, cool list.

Oh and Nishikori never made it to the top 10. Was stuck at #11 for a while.

Apart from NatF, is everyone reading this differently? How can it be anything but 1981 - the GOAT of all GOATS and another very solid No. 1

Two and half years later:
1990- Goffin(11)
1992- none
1993- Thiem (7)
1994- Pouille(16)
1995- Kyrgios(14)
1996- Coric(33)
1997- Zverev(20)

Only one new top 10 player since if we don't count Dimitrov whom reached it 2 months after the thread

At least next year Kyrgios and Zverev should cement their places in top 10 with a fashion

So much talent from 1980 up to 1987'ish - and then it's like a blackhole.

1985+ was the boom of the video game era globally, and 95+ you started with the playstations and what not.. In India, it caught up about 10 years late, 1995+ is when we had consoles and PS in the 2000s. I think that's what caught up with the mug generation. Some kids played tennis first and ended up as legends in the game. Other kids were legends in the game first, and then came to play tennis.
