TopSpin Cyber Flash 17

I searched for other posts on this string but they were all vague.
I am trying to decide on buying this in a reel instead of Luxilon BB ALU Rough. It seems that the Cyber Flash 17 is a textured string similar to ALU Rough, but I have no experience with it.
Does anyone know the differences between the strings and the actual prices of Cyber Flash? Google really didn't help either. I guess Germany-based TopSpin doesn't have a web site.
ALU Rough at $240 a reel is pricey like a momma.
Please comment! Thanks!

Cyber Flash is a terrific alternative for ALU users. The texture is not much, but it isn't much on the ALU Rough either. The cost per reel is $60 - 70 dollars, depending on where you get it from. Much better than $240.00.

Hey, does anyone know how the guages compare? I mean is the 17g Cyber Flash the same as the 16g ALU, other than the fact that they are the same diameter. There has to be some reason why Cyber Flash is available in 17, 16, and 15g.

Also, is any drop in tension necessary as with ALU.

The Cyber Flash gauges are 1.25mm (17) and 1.30mm (16). ALU is 1.25mm, but they refer to the gauge as 16L. Like the ALU this is a stiff string a recommends a 10% drop in tension.

Jerry, I know you have tried the big hitter. How would you compare the Topspin Cyberflash to the Big Hitter. Thanks in advance.

Big Hitter gets a slight edge in comfort...it plays a bit softer. For me, I need to drop the tension with the Cyberflash by 10% and can get away with 5% when using the Big Hitter. The Topspin string seems to get a slight edge in power. The biggest difference is tension maintenance. The Topspin string is a clear winner in this area of comparison. All other areas are close.

What I meant to say is - is Cyber Flash 17g comparable to ALU 16L in terms of it's performance or is the 16g a better bet.

@ Jerry

Which one do you recommend and why? Unique Big Hitter or Topspin CyberFlash?

The Topspin Cyber Flash might be thought of as the better string because it features newer technology that allows it to hold tension/playability longer than the Big Hitter.
