Toroline

Just chat with them on their webpage, I got responses very quickly all the time.
I've gone that route and the last time the person I was chatting with was not particularly helpful and, honestly, a bit rude. Plus, if I'm going to do business with them as a school, I have to have reliable email communication.

Interesting. My experience has been opposite. They even sent me free sets of strings to try, black otoro and other stuff.

Does Toroline share factories/manufacturing with any of the big brands? Seems to me that with the strings they are producing and the origin, it could very well be made in the same factory as Solinco?
Just curious, because I do feel like it is comparable to Solinco, but with many more diverse offerings.

Solinco. It's also why toroline doesn't have 5 sided strings.

Yes, i think the rest of us are talking about their routine customer service.
It sounds like you are asking for a slightly more complicated thin that the regular customer service may not have ability to process.
Just saying, I (and most others here) would say their access and service has been great (and is something you don't get from other brands), and I don't think it's necessarily fair to publicly condemn them if your request is not typical.

That's a fair point and also why I tried to clarify my particular situation.

But I do think certain things are fair to critique. I understand they are a relative newcomer to the business and are probably doing most of their business directly to individual consumers. They definitely want to make sure that as their sales increase they have good practices across the board.

Of course, and it sounds like they would be benefitted by working with you - so hopefully you get a positive response soon . Your experience is fair was well! best of luck in your endeavors.

I spent a lot of time trying various toroline strings, and I have to say I'm done w/ them except their round options as a cross - great snapback and comfortable, but way too muted and a rubbery feel that I just don't like. Too many other solid options out there, especially now that I've found Pure Rush, which is just as comfortable as Toroline strings but with better feel.

Bit of an update...

I talked to someone about my ordering needs as a school program and they have been pretty receptive. I am trying to work out a few details but it was nice to get my concerns heard and have them be open to working with me.

Finally got around to trying this "caviar"...its ok but it does not go the distance. Similar to what other people have said, there was just a little too much disconnect between me and the ball and after the first hour it just got worse.

I see that Toroline mostly comes in 1.23 while some are as thick as 1.27. I hit a pretty big ball, and I'm concerned that Toroline strings, in general, will break quickly at a thinner gauge (I usually hit with 1.30 in most strings). What's your experience been with breaking? For reference, the Restring Zero in 1.28 lasted pretty well for me.

Unfortunately I don't have a stringer, otherwise I'd opt for thinner gauge strings in general.

I have no issue with the breaking, I cut out my strings after 6-8 hours. O-toro is 1.23, unless you hit bigger balls than Steve Johnson, otherwise you'll be fine with the durability.

Haha I definitely don't hit like Steve Johnson, but I'm sure he has a million racquets and people to string them all. Is O-toro your favorite? I'm looking for a pretty soft but controlled poly to put in a stiff racquet

Yeah, O-toro is my favorite. It's medium stiffness to me, on the softer side.

O-toro will not last as long as Restring Zero. But neither will be very good at that point anyway to be honest. I am a string breaker, and zero has lasted longer any of the toroline strings, but its dead at that point and beginning to cut into itself. I like restring zero, but prefer O-Toro fwiw. Zero is more crisp but O-toro a bit more lively and has a bit better feel. But, if you are looking for durability above all, Zero has it beat.

Does anyone know if/when Toroline is going to offer O-toro in other colors? Sounds like they've done some testing. I tried asking via the Toroline site, but apparently they haven't been around the past few days. I figured someone here might know.

I asked about Black O-toro specifically not too long ago. They said TBD. So no updates there.

Has anyone played O-Toro mains with Wasabi X crosses? I'm interested in trying O-Toro in my Shift Pro 18x20, but not sure if I should go full bed or round in the crosses with the X. Tension recs? I'm currently playing Hyper-G 17 at 50 lb but could probably drop to 46-48 and still be happy.

I've played o-toro with Tru Pro Ghostwire crosses (49/47 on a lockout machine). That's my go-to cross string. I've also tried o-toro in full bed (49# on same machine). I liked both in a Blade v7 16x19. GW makes any poly feel a little softer, which I usually prefer, but o-toro is soft enough that it didn't feel stiff in a full bed. I've been playing wasabi mains and GW crosses, but I think I like the o-toro better.

How does O-Toro compare to Wasabi?

Yes, some are made by Zons taiwan, OEM manufacturer for solinco and many other brands. K Cedar korea also makes toroline strings.

Not sure if anyone's tried Toroline with other strings, but I've been rocking Solinco Confidential (16 and 16L) mains with Wasabi X crosses and it's been increadible. Most of my issues with full beds/hybrids of Toroline was a mushy feel, and this has completely solved it. Going to continue testing with regular wasabi as well, but I think I found a winner

This is great to hear, and a good idea. Wasabi X is maybe my favorite cross string (close with GhostWire) and although I like it with Wasabi in the mains, I can see it feeling on the mushy side at times. I've used a full bed of Toro Toro which I found as stiff and dead as Confidential (a close comparison IMO), but I bet if it were crossed with Wasabi X it would be great (just as would Confidential). I'm also curious if Silver 7 Tour would be a good main with Wasabi X as a cross, or if the S7T would just notch it to death.

I have some tournament 7 silver coming soon so I’ll update you as I try it out. I’m a huge confidential fan so take it with a grain of salt. I was getting a bit less spin than I’m used to with a wasabi/wasabix (still more than a full bed of confidential), but way more control and a feel that I’m more. Comfortable with.

I think it's really funny that they put their strings in packaging that is not only wasteful, but decadent as though it were going to be part of an "unboxing" video on YouTube.

They're a savvy marketing company that has convinced people that they've re-invented the wheel. Not much different from Solinco creating Hyper G (basically a budget RPM Blast with a zany color), giving truckloads of it away to pros and D1 programs, and watching the trickle-down effect of it seep into the 2.5 drills classes at our local clubs.

Luxilon Big Banger was the true leap forward. Toroline is just good at broadcasting themselves hopping in place.

I will, however, take a free reel if you want to convince me otherwise, Toroline.

I’ve got TruPro Pure Rush mains and Toroline Snapper crosses in my Fischer Vacuum Pro right now, originally did it just for the cool look in that frame but honestly I found that’s a dang good hybrid option that I may seek to try in some other frames too

I too am using Snapper crosses but with Hawk Touch mains. A very surprising combo that I also used for the color mix but is working very well for my game. Once it goes I’ll be trying Ice Code mains with snapper crosses. Whichever one works out better will be the daily driver

then why isn't it and M8 being used by most of the ATP tour pros ?? top 50 pros are mostly still using the Alu power or yonex polytour pro. they are Not using Toroline polys at all
If a top pro started using toroline, torolines sales would jump 50x over night. You think a pro is going to give them that free money? This is a business. These guys aren’t playing in the local church league for bragging rights. They’re playing for money and winning an extra 250 here and there doesn’t come close to sponsorship dollars.

Toroline would be smart to follow Solinco’s path. Get in with junior’s & college level players who are still open to trying new strings. The pro’s are so set on their racquet & string setups. They also can have their racquets restrung daily, where something like Alu works. But with juniors, they need a string that holds tension longer than 3 hours & doesn’t go dead. I love Toroline strings & their playability (Super Toro, Toro Toro & O Toro)

They were around for quite a while before that. Thats the whole point, Karue came and it increased public awareness by 5000x.

I don't know - they have been around since 2019/20 maybe?
Outside of this little nerdy community, hardly anyone knows Karue, but they have just been very active on social media and with influencers

That strategy just pays off so well when entering a market, so that will always be better than just going for traditional media with a lot of money
