Yes, stiffer, crisper, less dwell time/ball pocketing, etc. When you say stiff do you also mean crisp? I’m just curious.

Played a few hours this week with otoro tour, full bed, strung at 50 in a Vcore98 Tour. I liked it a lot and I think it pairs well with this racquet. It felt extremely similar to Confidential. I’ve also played regular otoro, which I think is also great, but definitely prefer the tour version. Confidential is also one of my go-to strings so no surprise that I prefer the otoro tour
I would say slightly less than regular o-toro.How’s the pocketing with otoro tour?
My tour is 3.25g heavier than otoro spin (I dont have a set of regular other than orange, but it is a full set cut from a reel). This is for both half sets with zip ties assuming the lengths are identical.Anyone find otoro tour to be on the heavier side? Just got it strung for the first time and my racket feels heavier than normal.
Thanks! Seems like enough weight to be noticeable. Let’s see how it feels in my 305s.My tour is 3.25g heavier than otoro spin (I dont have a set of regular other than orange, but it is a full set cut from a reel). This is for both half sets with zip ties assuming the lengths are identical.
Played a practice match last night. Strung otoro tour at 46. Went down 2 pounds from my standard 48 since the string is supposed to be stiffer. All I can say is, I’m not sure yet. It was a weird experience. So far in the 305s I have played with KPro and tour sniper, my two most used strings. So this was the first time using a non-round string in the racket. I previously used o toro in the percept 97D. I still think the tour is too muted for my liking. It takes away from the nice feel the 305s has. The string had a lot of power combined with the 305s. Balls were flying in the warm up. I ended up adjusting early on in the match and started playing Mannarino style and adjusting my swing to more of re-directing pace when it came and honestly it worked really well. I played very well and was dominating the match with aggressive play. I was hitting deep forehands that always ended up falling in and guiding backhands down the line with a lot of pace while not really swinging that hard. So I played great, but I didn’t feel like I was. The shots didn’t feel connected and the whole time I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. It felt like I was playing too good to be true. Also felt unsure how realistic it was to keep this up as the strings got older. I am playing a few more times this week, so I will report back on how they hold up.Thanks! Round wasn’t the right word. Otoro is definitely sharper edged than those two though.Kpro and sniper arent round.
Also point out Kpro has Wasabi, which is 4 sided. So this will theoretically have the most bite. Sniper is 5 sided, and should also provide more bite. But anyway, I found it interesting you wanted to try the stiffer O-toro, but then dropped the tension. My with o-toro in general is that it is quite powerful, so with the stiffer one, was hoping it would help control the pop a little bit better at the same reference tension.Round wasn’t the right word. I tried it in both a lower RA frame in the 2025 Head Gravity MP and Pro at my normal reference tension 49/47 and it felt great. Got the control I was looking for. I tried it in a Vcore 98 at 50lbs as an experiment with a slightly higher RA frame and it felt very stiffAlso point out Kpro has Wasabi, which is 4 sided.
