Strings usually about 17 g depends on gauge and material, OG the ones I use Tecnifibre Pro Contact are about 6g but thinner Pro Player OGs are about 5 g, and the vibration dampener will depend on type too usually 1-3 g.
that sounds about right.
it also depends on the 17g string - poly and sun gut should weigh differently at the same gauge.
are you trying to reduce the overall weight?

I mean I generally allow 17 grams for the string as a rule of thumb. Then there will be variation in function of the string pattern of the racquet, the gauge and the string itself. This could lead to variations of as much of +/- 3 grams.
For instance, I own the Prince Phantom 93P, in both 18x20 and 14x18 patterns. That's almost 20% more string length, and would be at least 3g more in the 18x20 if strung with the same string. Having said that, I typically go for a 16 gauge for the 14x18 vs. a 17 gauge for the 18x20. So a part of the difference is offset by the thicker gauge.
