Tour Bite & Hyper G hybrid?

Has anyone tried a Solinco Tour Bite mains and Solinco Hyper G cross hybrid?

A full Tour Bite set up feels a little too stiff in my Pure Strikes (older model), a full Hyper G lacks a bit of crispness (my BPS seem a lot more flex than 66), and a Tour Bite and Gosen OG Sheep 16L hybrid (usually my goto set up) doesn't work well.

I'm just wondering if anyone has given a Tour Bite/Hyper G a try and if so what your thoughts are on this set up.

I actually just tried this in my Head GXT Prestige Pro. Might have strung it a bit too tight at 54 Hyper X Mains with 52 Tour Bite crosses, as it had an odd disconnected feeling at first, but it loosened up and felt pretty good. Although I think most poly hybrids have this weird break-in period and after a few hours it definitely felt like a crisper Hyper X.

Wonder if it feels better with the reverse setup...

@TripleB i have not used this exact setup but I have recently switched from FB Hyper G 17 to Tour Bite 18 looking for a crisper feel. I've felt that HG was a touch too soft/mushy. So I'd suggest a thinner TB. Hope that helps

The Tour Bite set ups I mentioned above were with 1.15mm...that is one of the reasons I was thinking of throwing the Hyper G in there as a cross, just to soften the feel just a little without dropping down to the 1.10mm.

Definitely agree, the feel of the Hyper G is too soft by itself.

My last suggestion would be to go fullbed of TB but lower cross tension 2lbs. I string 53/51 in my Head Graphene Touch Speed MP's.

I've been fiddling with TB 18 and Hyper G 18. What I haven't done is use both together. Using a NEOS 1000 I've strung TB18 mains x Genesis Black Magic 18 crosses from 52/55, 55/57, 57/60. I've strung this hybrid in 3 Prince TW 100s 16x18, a POG 107 16x19 and 2013 Blade 98 18x20. I strung one of the TW 100s with HypG 18 mains x Tourna Premium Poly 18 at 55/57 yesterday. Initial tension loss is less with TB/BM than with HG/TPP. I'm using 18 because I am a geezer, but want to have fun with poly and hopefully not destroy my arm. I might actually like the TB/BM hybrid at reference tension 55/57 in my 18x20 Blade 98 better than in the TW 100s. I think in the 16x18 TW100s that 17 & 16L might play a bit better. Fortunately I have some MSV Focus Hex and Genesis Pro Poly in those gauges. In the POG, IMHO, nothing beats 16g AshKev x 17g Zyex at 72/59. But I am going to try some different gauge poly combos in a POG just to see if I can make something work for me.

I have now used Hyper G in 3 rackets: full bed, main with Black Magic cross, main with Tourna Premier Poly. I will cut out all Hyper G and go to Tourbite mains with Black Magic Crosses. Unfortunately I have over 1/2 mile of other round poly, so will need to figure out how to use it. Maybe catfish trotlines.

thanks for all the interesting setups, but since i am totally confused, i will take the advice of my tennis instructor
and string two racquets the same way, and experiment with the 3rd.
i am leaning towards full poly HyperG 17 @52# in my 2015 and 2017 PS97s. although i love the 2015 PS97 with Revolution 17 @52#, but it must be getting loose, as i cant volley very well with
it, but groundies and serves are awesome.
