Tour bite vs 4g.

Comparison from anyone? Never hit 4g. Been playing tour bite(full bed of 1.25 or 1.20 at 55lbs) for few years now. I try something different every now and then, but always come back to TB. I seem to prefer dead feeling string. Curious if 4g is as spin friendly. Is the longer tension hold true or just marketing bs? Power comparison? All opinions welcome. Thanks.

Power: TB>4G- Both are very low powered, but 4G more so.
Tension hold: 4G>TB- Both do a good job, but 4G is better.
Spin: TB>4G- For me, TB kills this department. The spin is outrageous from TB, while the spin from 4G is pretty mediocre IME.

Both are stiff, dead strings. TB has a tad more liveliness and a lot more spin, while 4G will maintain tension better and be a little lower powered.

+1, I think your assessment is spot on. I have used both and agree.

I would only qualify that the 4G I had was the 1.25 and the Tour Bite is 1.10. Adding a category of touch then Tour Bite > 4G.

Bang for buck, TB >>>>>>>> 4G.

Thanks, probably gonna pass on trying the 4g if I'm giving up significant spin. And as I said in the opening post, I always end up going back to TB from whatever new string I try. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

well, you are not giving up significantly.....just little bit compared to TB. when I hit with 4G, I thought it has very good spin comparable to RPM blast actually. I didn't go with it cause it was just too low powered for me.

Yes! TB is a great string and is better than 4G, even without factoring price.

Agree with everyone else. TB has a nice, crisp bite when hitting; whereas 4G just feels plastic and dull. Both are low-powered and stiff, but TB has some controllable power to it, while 4G just felt powerless and dead. 4G could be good if you need zero power and something that stays lifeless throughout. For some people it works, but personally I can't stray from TB.. it has all the spin and controlled power I need. Then the thinner gauges of TB just add some feel and pop to an already awesome string.

TB Soft is kind of a whole new string... totally different feel and power level, but definitely a comfy poly, although not quite as soft as Polystar Turbo which is the softest out there. TB 19 and TB 18 still had more crisp, controlled feel than TBS17

what about comparing TB soft to 4G ?

Ok, those are nothing alike in any way. Almost polar opposites in every category.

TBS has power, good spin, nice feel and some comfort (for poly), and loses tension a bit fast. Becomes a trampoline over time. One of the softest polys.

4G is powerless, with no feel, no comfort, average spin and max control, and holds strong and dead quite well. Never "trampolines". Stiff as a board; harsh.
