Tour Bite vs Confidential vs Revolution (thin gauges)

Can anyone comment on the differences or similarities in the performance characteristics (stiffness, tension maintenance, power, overall feel, etc) between Solinco TB, Confidential, and Revolution as it pertains to the thinner gauges? Namely, 1.15 mm gauge or less

It's been a while since I tried them (I only tried Tour Bite and Confidential in 1.15mm) but Tour Bite was to me the most low powered but controlled, Revolution the most dead feeling and stiff (It's been 3-4 years since I tried it in a Clash 1.25mm so I might be wrong), and Confidential provided the most spin and feedback. Overall preferred Confidential.

I’ve never tried confidential in any gauge, or regular TB (just TB Soft 1.30). I did try 1.25 and 1.20 Revolution at 48 and 47 pounds respectively and it felt pretty comfortable, dare I say “soft”. Any idea which offers the most power between the three?

Between TB and Confidential, Confidential for sure but I would dare say that Revolution is lower powered than both as well.
To me the ball didn't seem to go anywhere with it but my skill level was way below what it is now anyway...tried TB shortly after Revolution. Just for longer so memory is fresher.

Out of Solinco strings, to me Hyper G feels like it offers the most power.

Thanks for your feedback. It’s been less than a year since I last hit with revolution, and it was a pleasant experience both times I strung it in a full bed. I could recommend it to any poly user. I’ve never tried the thinnest gauge, which I’m curious about (to reduce SW of my over-spec gravity pro). It’s been such a long time since I’ve hit with regular HG. From what I recall, I really enjoyed it. But that was before injuries and before I cared much about strings. Ha. I more recently hit with HG Soft, but it felt like a plank for the longest time and had to drop some serious tension before it felt playable. After that it was fine, maybe a tad muted for my liking. In all honesty, I have a distaste for the bright lime green colored strings, which is why I haven’t much considered HG recently. There are so many options out there, even within the solinco portfolio (I quite like their string but am also open to other brands), that I figure I don’t need to use something I don’t like the aesthetics of :) I guess we all have our quirks.

I completely agree on not using something we don't like the colour off. No reason to as our performance doesn't change THAT much on strings most likely.

Thinner gauge is just going to offer more of everything except durability.
I've found Solinco strings aren't your best bet when dealing with injuries although HG is soft on paper.
A thinner gauge will work better for sure but for way less time.

Exactly.

Sounds like perhaps confidential 1.15 in the mid to upper 40’s could be the next thing to try. Worried that TB, even if I’m trying the thinnest gauges, could be a little too jarring and underpowered. Revolution 1.15 being an option as well.

Any idea how confidential performs in hybrid with syn gut or multi in the crosses?

I think TB is very crisp and gets the most spin out of the lot for me. Confidential is a little more muted but still firm and I think it has better directional control. Conf I think last longer than tour bite. I havent played with revolution but there is a new solinco light blue string I have now switched to that gets you all the action and tension maintenance of a stiff string but with the feel of a soft string. Also, all of this is for 18 gauge 1.15.

Thanks for the insight. Did you have any issues with notching for either TB or Conf and which provided more power? This is the first I’ve heard of the new light blue solinco string  I’m intrigued.

Perhaps TB 1.05 would be worth a try…
I don’t usually break strings before cutting them.
I popped that one in 1.5 hours when I was basically just starting to play tennis.
I wouldn't go lower than 1.15 otherwise you'll either break it very very soon or play with a dead string for a while. Both of which are not ideal.
