Tourna 300-CS broken/troubleshooting

Hi guys, so I have a tourna 300-CS Stringing machine that I got back in November 2021. I strung hundreds of rackets on this machine, maybe even up to 1000. Everything was going fine until I was stringing the last cross on the top of the racket because I use a starting clamp and I just had enough string to grab onto the tension head and I go to crank it to pull the tension and I'm almost there and then the string pulls out and I checked back on tension head and something broke in that black piece that slides. It now won't pull tension at all. Here is a video to hopefully give a better idea. Anybody have any ideas on how this can be fixed or who to talk to?

It almost looks like you may have lost a ball bearing or 2 from the glide jaws -- that's just a guess, but it looks like there is too much free play in the ball bearings / sliding back and forth when you move the jaws.

If you are under warranty, just send the tension head in and have them fix it. If you are no longer under warranty, you are going to do the same thing plus pay for the repair. It's 24 months warranty period which expired Nov 2024?

It's very hard to tell what is wrong with your gripper mechanism.

Lube the ball bearings. Some triflow or similar should be fine.

Try not to get it inside the gripper plates, but can clean with a shoe string soaked in alcohol.

@njhmusicman if the problem is the gripper does not slide forward enough, try putting a tiny bit of WD40 on the outside where the bearings are, it only take a tiny amount. Maybe a drop on each side.

So I'm not sure what happened but it now works
I swear that it wasn't working when the incident happened but it does look a tad different but I strung a full racquet and everything was fine

An irish saint blessed it. Just use it.
It was so interesting because after the incident, it wasn't working and so I stopped using it and I emailed tourna, and sent them my video and they responded by saying that if they could see me actually trying to pull string in a video that that would help them, and this was a couple days after the incident. So I went in my room and put a racket up and got some string and went to pool and by the grace of God it started to work. The guy from tourna did say that I could buy a replacement part which I may consider buying just to have on hand but I'm very blessed that it started to work again
