Tourna 700 ES Vs Alpha Ghost 2

My guess is Xpider. The new Tourna's advertise the same new Xpider base clamps, and the 700ES looks an awful lot like the Diamond BT:

700-ES has different clamps, turntable, towers, and stand. But I would assume they are made in the same factory.

I am talking the towers themselves.

Irvin... Specifically the towers themselves. I'm not sure I'm explaining my situation the best, but here's another way to think about it. Imagine I had a racket perfectly mounted on the 6:00 tower. So, the side supports and the 6:00 post are perfect. However, because the tower can rotationally turn maybe 5° left and right, the 12:00 position of the racket could be pointing off center. I've never encountered where a support Tower has some latitude to move rotationally and not just forward and back. I'm trying to figure out if this extra play is a quality defect or if I just don't know how to mount a racket. I've been stringing for close to 20 years and strung full time for college teams and pro shops, so I don't think it's me.

The slight twist in the towers might take a few seconds longer to adjust but its actually a benefit since you can always get all points of contact on even warped frames. I string some very old stuff sometimes and its nice to support even the elderly racquets. I would venture to guess its by design that they rotate.

I'm curious how you like the machine now 6 months in? I just got my 700 a few days ago and am having some concerns over the amount of play in the towers when they are unlocked. Did you have any issues with the towers being able to rotate slightly clockwise/counter-clockwise when unlocked? Because of this movement, I'm finding it extremely difficult to center and mount a racquet quickly. I've only strung 3 frames, but mounting is taking literally 20 mins every time. I know I won't have to adjust the towers much, but I don't think the sort of play I'm seeing is acceptable. On my old Gamma Progression the towers just moved forward and back within a track and there wasn't any wiggle room along any other axis.
Where did you get a 700es? I reached out to Tourna at the beginning of April and they said they won't be back in stock until fall.

I got mine from Unique Sports. They got them back in stock on 4-19-21, and I drove over to pick mine up on 4-20-21.

That's crazy, I contacted them all through April with my last communication with them being April 15th saying that they wouldn't be in until the fall but they were going to have 300 and 600s in on the 20th.

I'll have to call them in the morning and figure out why the hell they aren't selling them if they were in stock 4 days later. The rep said she would call me when they arrived. Stringing Machine Pros was told they were out of stock on the 19th as well.

I forgot exactly when I ordered my 700. I wonder if they had a limited amount and pre-sold all of the ones in the April shipment and won’t have any more until fall? If you want one I’d lock in a price while you can. I’m guessing the price will go up if demand is high.

EDIT: I just checked I pre-ordered mine back in late March, and they did mention they were selling fast so I needed to get on the list. I thought that was just a selling tactic.
