Understood mate.I've never played a hybrid string job because it feels like an unnecessary hassle to me. I also don't use product in my hair for the same reason.

Since this is a super valid suggestion, I would recommend hair styling powder. Just got some myself, way easier then gels and pomades. Takes 2 seconds to use. How is this valid to tennis.. umm look good, feel good, play good am I rightI've never played a hybrid string job because it feels like an unnecessary hassle to me. Not bald. Actually, I went to a barber a while back who asked if I wanted gel in my hair, and I told him to go for it. He did a great job, and I left the barbershop looking like a million bucks, a movie star. He sold me a tube of the stuff and gave me a quick tutorial on how to use it. Well, the next day, it was my turn to style my own hairdo. It didn't go well. I wound up looking like a dirty bridge troll. So that was that.well if you are bald...
jk
LT is a great string so consider using a thinner gauge than you usually do especially in an 18m racquet. I haven't played with BS7T for a while but IIRC, this is a bit more crisp than LT. LT was more on the muted side with out really feeling dead
i've played more w LT most likely because I was able to get a decent surplus of it. LT seemed a bit more muted and the Tourna crisp. Stiffness...maybe would say LT but being muted led me to say that it was more comfortable. spin BH had a slight "edge" in this department. Power BH. Durability LTNot bald. Back to strings: between Lynx Tour and BHS7T, which did you find to be more stiff? Which won in the categories of comfort, spin, power, and durability?
I've only ever bought sets so far (from a mix of TW and Rainforest), at varying points of the past 2 years, and have never had it break while stringing or playing. Probably 5-6 sets of 17 gauge and 2-3 sets of 16 gauge, across 3-4 purchases, spaced out over that time. That said, I almost always use it only in the mains, combined with a smooth round poly cross (usually MSV Co-Focus), so that may help cushion/counter some of the physics that contribute to sheer breakage (when played full-bed).are the unexpected breaks happening less with string sets? Meaning is it more probable to get a bad reel than a bad set?
I have also never had a premature breakage with silver 7 tour and sometimes I leave it in for a bit too long and still no durability issues. I almost always order in sets as well, but entertaining a reel especially if it goes on sale.I've only ever bought sets so far (from a mix of TW and Rainforest), at varying points of the past 2 years, and have never had it break while stringing or playing. Funny I’ve never tried hybrid it with another poly but these reactions make me want to try it attest once, maybe in the winter time. What else have people tried with it?Been a full bed user for several years. I tried hybriding with Grey Fire as a cross and holy cow I love it. Lower launch angle, slightly softer, and insane slippery, spinny goodness. I think this is my new happy.

Strung this for a few players and a few frames for myself. The bigger hitters loved the string but a number of them came back to me after a bit with shear breaks. I did not experience the shear breaks in my frames but I am no longer a big hitter and tend to hit the ball lower in the sweet spot. Most of the breaks I saw were higher in the stringbed. It is possible Tourna has fixed the issue in newer runs. Love the string but it plays a bit firm. I would string it a bit lower.. it holds tension very well.A year or two ago, I contacted Tourna and referenced this thread and my experiences with shear breaks. At some point, they sent me several individual packs of strings as compensation. I had the same shear breakage issues with the individual packs.

I’m going to try it with cyberflash 1.20 crosses.Funny I’ve never tried hybrid it with another poly but these reactions make me want to try it attest once, maybe in the winter time. What else have people tried with it?
This is my exact reasoning for crossing BHS7T mains with the super slick and pretty firm MSV Bussard (S7T 1.25 / Bussy 1.20). Haven't tried it yet, but chomping at the bit to do so in a Strike 100 16x20.Just recently discovered the magic of this string. The amount of bite/spin the mains generate is quite noticeable. Tension loss is minimal having played 7 hours with it and it's very comfortable despite being semi firm. So far I've used a full bed but really enjoyed blended it with Enso Pro Carbon and ReString Zero. Enso Pro is soft but it does the opposite in this blend as it kinda firms up the string bed. Zero was really good. Went with this blend per TennComm's recommendation.
I have. It works well on it. Do the same tension as you were doing in your blade. Great stringHas anyone ever tried S7T in an ezone 98? I just switched from a blade 18x20, and tried PTP at 51lbs but I feel it lacks the crispiness I like in S7T
It's great in the EZ100 for sureHas anyone ever tried S7T in an ezone 98? I just switched from a blade 18x20, and tried PTP at 51lbs but I feel it lacks the crispiness I like in S7T
What does everyone think of max power 1.20 silver as a cross? Seems like a nice crisp round string with good tension maintenance to cross with bhs7? I am trying to reduce the weight in the hoop slightly on my frames and felt my dropping gauge in the crosses may not only do that but provide me with more benefits than a full bed of silver 7.This is my exact reasoning for crossing BHS7T mains with the super slick and pretty firm MSV Bussard (S7T 1.25 / Bussy 1.20). Full approved. Any thin, firm, slick cross will compliment many of the qualities already in BHS7T, but then also accentuate the bite and sliding of the mains even a bit more, while also enhancing predictability and overall control. Kind of a win-win-win, if you will. What does everyone think of max power 1.20 silver as a cross? Seems like a nice crisp round string with good tension maintenance to cross with bhs7? Thanks Trip! MSV sounds very promising too. I’ll pick up a set of max power 1.20 today and try it out on the next string job, I just had most of my frames strung with a full bed so it will take some time. I do wish tourna would make bhs7t in a 1.20. They actually make it in bhb7Full approved. And I forgot to update this thread on BHS7T 1.25 / Bussard 1.20 around 50 lbs or so in a Strike 100 16x20. In short: awesome. If you're looking to firm up the face and hoop in a racquet with a bit of extra flex, be it in the neck (like the Strike) or elsewhere, this combo will do it, while still retaining excellent balance of everything else, and most crucially, a super crisp, transmissive feel, which is vital in so many of the muted, muddy messes that are today's retail layups.
I second Max Power as being a good option for crosses. Reasonably priced and will maintain the crisp feel you get with full bed BHS7T. The 1.20 does feel a bit thicker than that though, more like a 1.25. And if you desire something that could soften the string bed slightly compared to full bed BHS7T, then I would opt for crossing with Hyper G round in a thin gauge. Thanks Trip! Based on what I’ve read, you are most certainly not the only one who has experienced this exact issueI love this string so much that I always come back to it, but lately I've been feeling frustrated with how easily it breaks at the grommets. I get about 4/5 hrs in each racquet. It's always at the top of the frame for me. Sometimes the two middle ones. The moment I shank, the strings automatically pop. I hit the ball pretty hard, strung at 54lbs. They never break at the center of the frame for me. Is anybody else experiencing it?
Thank you for the heads up about the thickness. I’ll look into hyper g in a thin gauge. I think I’m starting to entertain the idea of thinner crosses overall but there’s so many options, Alu also makes a 1.20 but I doubt the playability would be worth it even in the crosses. Maybe I’ll even try a full set of bhb7. But I like to string low so I don’t know how that will work.I second Max Power as being a good option for crosses. And I agree—wish they would make BHS7T in 1.20
No problem and I agree Alu might be a bit of a waste as a cross only. It is going to die and bag out much faster than BHS7T or just about anything else for that matter. Full bed BHS7T isn’t a bad idea, depending on what you’re after. That will give you the best idea of how it feels and behaves. Crossing with a thinner, round, slick poly can lighten the hoop just a bit and might give you more access to spin and potentially more comfort. Thanks for sharing! Highly looking to trying this out myself comparing MSV Bussard to sync in the crosses. Getting my Bussard tomorrow, so will be seeing if the Bussard will be making a permanent switch from sync. Do you feel there are some qualities of sync in the crosses that are actually better than Bussard?BHS7T 1.25 / Bussard 1.20 around 50 lbs or so in a Strike 100 16x20. In short: awesome. I’ve been on a journey to find the crispest of crisp slick round strings with decent maintenance I can use as a cross string and have been told by a few that bussard may be more crispier than sync which has been my go to for the time being.Where is all this love for a bussard cross coming from all of a sudden. Not to selve, retain yourself do not this it, do not test it, arrghh hopeless, the more i say dont do it, the more i want to hahaha![]()
