Tourna Tac overgrip formulation change?

I have used Tourna Tac grips for years and have always loved them. But I recently bought some from tennis Warehouse and they are different. They literally start falling apart on the first use whereas the previously were fine for 5 or 6 uses before getting any tears/rubbing off.

I noticed before I put them on that they were different on each side - one side was the obvious tacky side and the other more matte finish. Previously they were the same on each side and you could put them on either way up.

Has anyone else noticed this change? Disappointing to say the least.

The Tourna Tac (black or white) has always been tacky on one side and matte on the other over the last few years I've been buying it.
Correction. I have been buying the ultra tac version. It looks basically the same on both sides when you open it.

I guess you mean Mega Tac?

I hope it hasn't changed, it is perfect the way it is.

Can you post some pictures of what is happening? Many years ago I bought some original Tournas and they weirdly disintergrated within minutes.

Unless you accidently bought regular Tourna Tac which is no where near as good as Mega Tac.
Yep. It was late at night - I mean mega. I have used it for ages and this pack has suddenly started wearing out much quicker - like 2 hrs vs 10 hrs. It's not degraded in sunlight or anything of that sort of issue - it's just wearing much quicker.

I would post a pic but I changed it yesterday. I'll take a pic when this one does it.

I find the mega tac is very tacky to start but after 2-3 hours gets very slippery and unusable....... is that your experience too?

I find that after the initial tac wears out, it becomes soft and rubbery. I wouldn't say it is slippery though. I prefer it to what happens to your Wilson pros or Yonex supergraphs which becomes gritty and rough once the tac wears out.

I hope no change in Megatac, I use it too! Initial tack is great and although it wears out, it is still usable for pretty long as then it feels like a regular new overgip. I don't live in humid conditions and don't sweat much.

Yes... It only last about two hours of play then seemed the glue somewhat melted under hot temp as I usually played indoor court..

Then it became very slippery that you better changed it before you chuck your racket

They have totally changed the tourna tac. It is thinner and does not become “rubbery” like it used to. Also sticks to itself too much. I no longer use the new poop.

It seems that they changed manufacturing techniques so that the most recently made TournaTac grips are of the same design as their new "SoftTac" products. Thicker and less pliable overall, the side intended for use is still rubbery, while the opposite side is now completely dry and "paperlike" instead of just "less rubbery". The side effects of this change are that the grips disintegrate much faster than they used to (like plain Tourna Grip fast), and since the opposite side is not-tacky, it does not adhere to itself upon wrapping, allowing it to slide easily out of position during use, exposing the base grip underneath. Basically, the change was bad enough that it has me searching high and low for a solid replacement for the original formula. Head ExtremeSoft is fairly close, but the perforations aren't my thing. ADV grips were good for both the feel and durability, but are a bit thicker and they also have the matte side underneath which allows for the OG to slide off of itself. Gonna try out the Technifibre ATP Pro Contact grips next and report back.

Whoever recommended Technifibre ATP Pro Contact as a stand in for “original formula” TournaTac:

Thank You, Sir!

Now I just have to convince the Technifibre Rep who lurks these boards to get their people to offer the Black version in 12 and 30ct bulk packaging.
