Tourna Tac Rag

AR15

Professional
I purchased a Tourna Tac Rag, and plan to use it tonight for the first time.

Despite constantly changing over grips, using rosin bags, and using other grip aids, I have a terrible problem with grips getting slick from excessive perspiration.

I will follow up later with a review of how the Tac Rag works for me. Does anyone else have experience with it they will share?

I bought a Gamma Tacky Towel about 10 years ago---it's still tacky as hell. It's great for adding some stick to an old grip in an emergency, but don't add too much---it's like epoxy! Rosin bags are okay, but this stuff is the real deal.

TW is selling the Tourna Tac Rag, but there are no customer reviews. I didn't find anything is a forum search either. It's either too new, or no one has tried it.

OK, I tried it out last night. I live on the Gulf Coast, and we played right after Thunderstorms went through the area. The temp was in the high 80's and the humidity was near 100%. Needless to say I was sweating buckets.

I had new Wilson Pro overgrips on my racquets. I rubbed the Tourna Tac Rag on the overgrips and my hands. My initial thought was that it might be too sticky, and I might have trouble changing grips.

I found the Tac Rag worked pretty well overall. It was not too sticky as I had originally thought. It definitely helped me grip my racquet under the worst of circumstances. It does not last very long, and I reapplied at almost every change over. Also, once my overgrip got good and sweaty, the tac rag's beeswax didn't adhere to the grip very well, and had to rely on it sticking to my palms.

It was slightly annoying to have tennis ball fuzz stick to my hands, and to put sticky hands in my pockets to retrieve tennis balls. You also must contend with the substance on your hands when you want to wipe your face or eyes.

Overall the product worked well for me, and I will continue to use it.

I've tried that too, it was too sticky. Prince Grip Plus is pretty good. I try to rotate wrist bands and towel off frequently. On the worst days, I'll slap on a tennis glove.
