Tourna Tac - THE best overgrip

I used to love Wilson Pro Overgrips, but since I have tried Tourna Tac, and I gotta be honest, it is by far the best overgrip I have EVER tried in my entire life, and I've tried a lot of overgrips. Everything about it is great! Feel, durability, they got the the tack just right, doesn't slip, and I could go on all day. I did have my doubts when I was putting it on, as I have tried Agassi Pro and Original Tourna, and I didn't like that. But no, wonderful grip. I would recommend this overgrip to anyone. It's like the JoelDali of overgrips. :D

Tried it and liked it some years ago when it first appeared. Does it now come in XL? Seems I recall it wasn't particularly long. Unique LOVES to create SKUs, otherwise they could have/should have made all T-grip one 'extra long' length and really simplified things.

I thought that the difference between Tourna original and XL wasn't the length, but the width of the grip?
It is the length actually. I used to play with the original Tourna Grips but the durability was terrible. love the Tac ones. One time I ordered the regular instead of the XL and it did not make it all the way up my handle so definitely a length difference.

No, it's the width that's different. By being wider, you can go farther up the handle, even though it's the same length.

Yes, it's the width.
There was a debate about this when we found Roddick using Touna XXL. Compared it to traditional Tourna side-by-side, and it was only wider. The only reason XXL looks like it's long is what Nuke said. It's wider, it goes up higher by using less OG.

To the OP: Tourna Tac was nice. I really enjoyed how absorbent it was, and the tack was better than average. But it didn't really last that long for me, which is the only reason I switched out to Supreme. But it definitely is a fine OG.

It's a great grip, but I might try the white version next time.
I will also try Gamma DermaGrip and Prince MicroZorb. THEN, I would have tried every single overgrip available to me. Yeah, that's right. No joke.

That's pretty hardcore dude. You might like Microzorb. I think it's a nice combo of tackiness and absorbancy.

I'll feel like I could fly after I've tried everything. Lol
I'll tell you the worst overgrips, though:
VS Overgrip
Agassi Pro

I really like the Tourna Tac but since you have tried so many grips I was wondering If you have also tried the Yonex Super Grab and what in your opinion is the superior Grip and why? (Feel, Durability, sweat absorbtion)

Sorry but I don't know about the Superior Grip. I Googled it to remind me but nothing came up named 'Superior Grip'. Yonex Supergrap is a lot like Wilson Pro if you've tried it.

He meant what is the superior grip between Tourna Tac and Yonex Supergrap. For me, Supergrap is definitely my favorite for the great combo of tack and absorption. I've also used tournagrip, volkl supergrip 2, gamma supreme, wilson pro, and a prince og. Supergrap and Wilson pro definitely the best to me, the others get too slick except tourna which tears apart in a few minutes. I've never tried Tourna Tac but it doesnt really interest me because of the short length compared to Supergrap being super long.

How is the durability of the Supergrap? I think I will order the Supergrab next time around.

It lasts a long time for me. It gets dirty quick but that's expected from a white og. Some people wear through grips quicker than others but for me they last several weeks. The tackier grips probably last longer but Supergrap definitely lasts long enough and absorbs much better than the really tacky grips. I see the price of a 30 pack went up about 5 bucks recently. Still worth it but seems like they went up in price all of the sudden.

Though I've never tried TournaTac, I really like the Supergrap as well. I now go with the black so it doesn't look like a dirty dishrag after a week or so.

How thick is TournaTac? Visually, it looks like a thicker OG.. which is a negative for me. Supergrap is on the thin side IMO.

They probably hiked the price up after all the TW Playtesters said it was their favorite OG

I really cannot tell the difference as in thickness compered to other OGs. I don't think that it is thicker than other OGs, but could be..... not really sure. I will add the Super Grab to my next order to try it and I can only recommend the Tourna Tac from my personal experience. Maybe you should just try it one time.

Tourna tac is amazing, but it usually gets too slick in the humidity down here. I pretty much have to use tournagrip. I wish tourna grip was made in white..it would be amazing..I have no idea why it is not.

because white grips are meant for girls.... and I think the blue color of tournagrip is a branding thing.

It came in blue, pink, gray, black in years past. The TournaTac is available in white...you could flip it over to the less smooth side(IF it's made the way it used to be).

It certainly is distinctive, but quite unattractive on many rackets.
According to Unique:
"The Tourna-Grip® Light Blue Color® is a Federally Registered Trademark."
Interesting that they could register a color.

the yonex supergrap is the only grip i've tried that can be used on both sides. after the original side is used up, i remove it and use the other side. tack is same on both sides.

I know. I meant regular tourna, which is only blue. White OGs are nice..look killer and I know when they need to be changed by visual. Tourna always fakes me out..I feel like I can use it another session, and then it turns to tissue 10 minutes in.

Still the only reliable OG I can use for the strong humidity down here.

I know what it's like ;) I normally go on holiday (vacation) to Orlando, Florida. SO... HOT... I played on the courts there a couple of times and the grips were a problem. Since it is getting hotter over in the UK nowadays, I am looking at more hot-weather-suitable grips. I landed on the Tourna Tac and by the way guys I am now going to stay with it rather than trying DermaGrip and Microzorb. Of course, if I see it in the local shop I will get it, but for now I'm with Tourna Tac.

I use Tourna Tac during the winter, but it's that time of year (humidity) to start thinking of switching. Sounds like Supergrap or Original Tourna Grip are my top contenders.

I am a s-Lut for Tournagrip. The stuff is just indecently great. Been using Tournagrip since around 1976, with full satisfaction!

I think Supergrap or Wilson Pro will do you good here if you still like the tack of Tourna Tac. Tourna original plays a little different to Tourna Tac.

I am going to switch back out to Pro Overgrips. I can see what people mean now when they say it loses it's qualities as you use it more.

Seems to me that Wilson Pro loses its qualities quicker than most... not sure why that would be the default...

I live in a hot humid climate (Atlanta). I prefer Tourna Tac in the winter and Supergrap in the summer. Tourna Tac is a little thicker and provides more tac and cushion, whereas Supergrap is more absorbent while still a little tacky.

If you enjoy thin like I do then you should try wilson pro.

I've bought 30 pack reels of both supergrap and wilson pro and the wilson definitely has a thinner, less cushy feel to it.

Thanks let me know!

Just put the Wilson Pro on one racquet and Tourna Tac on the other and I must say they are almost the same in terms of tackyness. I would give a very slight edge to the Wilson Pro for tackyness, I would also say the Wilson Pro seems to be a little bit thinner and applies nicer to the Grip than the Tourna Tac XL(because the XL is a bit wider)

Have not played with the Pro yet so I am not sure how the absorption compares to tourna tac

Not sure now. Tourna Tac and Wilson Pro are on and off for me. Dunno :l
..And for hate comments, you should notice that I am not the least bit bothered to argue, so just shutup
