yep

i was recently playing the tournment in rome georgia, it was a level 2, i won my first one by default and then lost my second, i won my third and had to play a kid that was ranked 37 in the fourteens. He just moved up to the sixteens and is a really good player. I lost my first set 6-0 and then went up 5-3 in the seond and was serving it out when the blister about the size of a quarter poped an om hand and i had no ability to swing the racket anymore. I feel as if i would have won the second and had the momentum for the third set tiebreak, but i guess ill never know.

ranked 170
just moved up

I'm number 2 seed for my next ZAT. If theres any champs or supers or people that are equivalent to that level, how good is it to be number 2 seed in an ordinary zat? I know its not anything to brag about but just wondering if it means I might be able to do ok in champs.

ooh, brayden tough draw, I've never seen Dylan play before but have heard he's really good but streaky (good day/bad day). Either way it'll be a tough match. GOOD LUCK!

nice, you'll probably get 1st or 2nd seed. Unfortunatley, just like always i'll have to pull a couple upsets to get anywhere but i guess thats what happens when you dont play many tournamnets

good luck and keep us posted

USTA National Opens - 651702406 11/23/2006
Rnd Result Opponent Rank Score
64 Win Shpall, Jonathan A. 58 6-0; 6-1
32 Win Karagezian, Arthur 34 6-1; 6-2
16 Win Lineberry, Alexander 33 6-0; 6-1
Q Win Porutiu, Horea 32 6-3; 6-2
S Loss Ho, Daniel 2 0-6; 6-3; 7-5
PL Win Thompson, Clay 1 4-6; 6-1; 7-5

you won the first set 6-0 and then lost the last 2 sets 6-3 and 7-5? man that must have been a hard pill to swallow ;) anyways, beating the second seed 6-0 in a national competition in the semi's is definitely something to build on :)

good job

Edit: and so you are Mika after all... :p

Yeah, it's usually the 13/14 year olds than can't really spell and/or type very well due to lack of education or complete laziness... this thread is full of them.

i know there was nothing i could do about it

There is stuff you can do. You can call your opponent to the net and talk it over and try to work it out or you can payback call his next clear winner out or you can call for a umpire to watch the match. When I first started USTA last year I played a guy that was ranked much higher than me. I won the first set then in the second set he called any thing that was near the line out. I was pretty mad and upset someone watching said I could call a umpire so I did cause I didnt know back then. The calls all of a sudden got a lot better. I still lost the match in the tie break but I didnt get cheated out of it.

Yeah, blame it all on them. What's wrong with a thread filled with 13/14 year olds. This is the junior part of the forum isn't it? I find what you said to be very offending.

i am snow man

Which tourney? I'm going to watch SAP open in February (I might even be a ball boy, I dunno.) Years back I saw Andy Roddick playing basketball at our club. My coach even pointed him out but I was too young then to know any pro.. I hope I can see and maybe meet the pros like Roddick, Safin, and Blake. Hopefully they come to Club Sport! Wish me luck. :p

Anyone ever been to a Grand Slam? How was it?

lol, the sad thing is that is a low level tournament. The lowest you can play that gives you REGIONAL ranking points (i know, how sad is that)

wow, i played fairly horribly this weekend. In the first match i played probably the worst i have in a loooong time, however, i got really lucky with an easy first rounder and just squeaked out a 7-5, 7-6 victory (shoulda been like (6-1, 6-2). In the 2nd match i probably played the best i did all tournament, i beat the 9th seed 1-6, 6-2, 10-7. The first set he killed me but in the 2nd i finally figured out his game and it was good from there, still pretty physically draining. The 3rd match was ok, i won the first 4 games but then (i was pretty tired i had just finished my other match about an hour before) i started to lose focus and get tired, he won 6 games in a row, before i could blink an eye. 2nd set was absolutley horrible, he went up 5-1, i then made a slight comeback to 5-4 and in my service game, was down 0-40, won 2 points and then hit my hardest serve of the day, t he guy like dove and barely got it, i basically already thought the point was over but ran to the ball, took a huge swing and........put it into the net :( oh yea an interesting note the kid had a 2-handed backhand and forehand.

Oh yea, brayden i think i saw you, did you play on court 2 at like 11:45 on Sat.? The kid i saw was wearing all adidas stuff including a hat, a wilson racquet and adidas shoes

I wonder what the difference between the standards in Australia and USA are. I would be pretty sure the USA standard for U14's would be higher than Australia. (I live in Australia).
