Who was your pro at Syosset? You can e-mail me if you don't wanna broadcast it over the airwaves :)

J

well most people don't even know where syo is so I was in those programs where you moved around (I had many pros, never took privates there) I had Jules mostly, and Brian (Red hair) and John (has a little kid named josh). Also had Russ (Gigantic), and andres a few times. I did take a few privates with Jules, but overall in sporttime you don't get better when you play with people that can barely hit the sweetspot 1/50 times.

Russ is my best friend in the world, I wont comment on his playing ability however. ;)

Yeah Russ is pretty cool. Haven't seen him in over a year, or anyone sporttime really. You wouldn't know Jason would you? He was the head at syosset sporttime under carl for a few years ago (ricardo took his job since he moved somewhere else), He was one of the nicest people at sporttime and one of the best players :)

I played my first tourny today. Novice. It was scheduled for yesterday but was rained out.
It's a beautiful Sunday morning and I get to play tennis. Yay!
It's either cold or I got the pre-game shivers.
8 AM... Sweet.
I played Joshua in Guys 14s.
He had a huge serve for a beginner, Ran around the backhand, and was easily pressured when I was at net.
Lost first set 4-6.
Second Set 6-2.
Third set leading 3-1. Dropped the ball. 3-6. I noticed I was rushing, trying to grab it before it slipped away but it just made it worse. But when that happened, it was too late. =/
I lost.
Two hour match. From freezing cold to burning hot. Fremont is quite a place.
There's always next time.

I still can't believe you got nailed below the waist by the ball:confused: . I'd thought you'd win. Do you remember that bet we had?

I was good friends with Glenn and Jeff, knew Jared, CC. Jason sounds familiar, I would probably know him if I saw him.

I live like 10 minutes from that place. The courts aren't very good. Good Luck.

do any of yall ever come down to MS and play in the bullfrog held yearly here? a lot of fun, good courts

Could you give more information on the Bullfrog. My son spends a couple of weeks down there each summer with his grandparents. Would be nice if they could enjoy a tournament down there with him.

Oh I'm sorry racingdad, wasn't checking this thread.

Anyway, the Bullfrog here isn't in the Summer, it's held Feb 3-5 every year, sorry about that. Only major tournament in MS in the summer is the Qualifier (June 2nd) but it's closed for only Mississippi residents.

Any more questions feel fee to ask.

I'm in 18s and I live in Ridgeland (right next to Jackson). That's a little less than an hour drive (Yazoo is about 35-40 mins, and I know a shortcut to Benton from a friend, so about 45 mins to Benton)

lol well, lets see, lets just say i'm not a morning person :-( lol i lost the first 5 games, turned it around and choked in the tiebreak losing the first set 7-6 (7-2). I knew i could win and won the 2nd set 6-4. We had to play a 10 point super tie, which i absolutley despise. I lost 4 match points, at 9-7, 9-8, 10-9 and 12-11 and then lost the first match point against me by double faulting at 12-13 :( Well i am dissapointed to say the least but at least the kid i played Christian Boulanger will probably destroy either of the 2 kids he plays in the final

Play lakeville next week actualy i am not doing the todd morsilli. Boulanger is very good though taking him to a third is great

yep, just as expected Boulanger won the next match in straights, although i do think its funny that the 2 best people in the tournament (i'm including myself here considering i took boulanger to a 3rd and should have won) were not seeded

There's the draw of one of my recent tournaments for practice. Seeded 1st; my name is Andrew Hwang. In the finals against seed 2, I was winning 5-2 then it started raining so director calls us inside to wait. It really pours for a while so my family and I leave. then i get an email saying the tournament went on and i lost due to not being there to play. does anyone else think this is ********..? basically blew away everyone and lost because of logical thinking.

That sucks. Whats ur national ranking?

state ranking is #2, last time I checked my nat. ranking was 79 but it probably moved up after i played another nat. tournament
