Way to ruin the Open. This is a trash call. Trash. Ruined everything for a simple mistake. I dont care, they made the wrong call.
He left them no option. The right thing took place today. Bye Novak!!!I get that they were following protocol, but it kind of ruins it. There was no intent to harm so I don‘t think it warrants a DQ
Lol seriously? Of all the posters on this forum to come out with this reaction you were the last person I was expecting to see. Quite simply the correct decision was made. Can't understand why you have such a problem with it.Way to ruin the Open. This is a trash call. Trash. Ruined everything for a simple mistake. I dont care, they made the wrong call.
Ruins the tourney. He barely hit it on accident. Ruins the whole slam.Lol seriously? Of all the posters on this forum to come out with this reaction you were the last person I was expecting to see. Quite simply the correct decision was made. Can't understand why you have such a problem with it.
VamosThe establishment never loses.

Disagree... I like Novak but he got what he was asking for...Way to ruin the Open. This is a trash call. Trash. Ruined everything for a simple mistake. I dont care, they made the wrong call.
Conversely, feel this decision upholds the game's integrity...Would hate for the game's superstars being held up to different standards...Ruins the tourney. He barely hit it on accident. Ruins the whole slam.
Yes.If it was Federer would he have been ejected?
The rules are there for a reason and Djokovic would've known exactly what they are. Only has himself to blame.Ruins the tourney. He barely hit it on accident. Ruins the whole slam.
Maybe, but it ruins the entire tourney.Disagree... I like Novak but he got what he was asking for...

We all are paying for it now.is that the argument?
it ruins the "good tennis"?
Nole ruined it himself, he made his bed now he's gotta pay his dues

It's in NYC - $$ in her eyes.
Read the rule. Intent is irrelevant.I cant believe this. He barely hit a ball with no intent. Dont care the rules. This ruined the entire thing. The whole tourney is a sham. Whole thing is an *
Agreed. It is a joke. He clearly had no intention of hitting anyone. This is a black eye for tennis but not because of what Nole did. We lose the world #1 for a grand slam because some lady had a meltdown after a ball was lobbed at her neck.
Huge mistake on Novak's part - he needed to know better - but the rule is a JOKE.

Shapovalov hit the ball with maximum power. Henman also, point blank. Nalbandian kicked the ad that was just in front of foot fault judge that gave him several FF.No, I think it was the right decision unfortunately. Intent does not factor into it, it all boils down to bad luck. Happened before with Shapovalov, Nalbandian and also Tim Henman in 1995. No one intentionally directs the ball at line judge or ball boy / ball girl, it’s simply bad luck but rule is clear in this regard.
What this should do is serve as a lesson to all the players. Best to steer clear of any such trouble.
Federer once hit the ball kid who wasn't paying attention right in the head (outside of play) and he was AIMING for the ball kid, trying to get him to catch his trick shot. It all ended with everyone laughing, including the ball kid. Unfortunately, video seems to be scrubbed off yt...The thing is, Federer would never do such a careless thing in the first place.
