Obviously listing all his accomplishments would take an eternity but I will post a few ones that are specifically a direct result of this win and also what he's done in 2017:
1) 10-10-10 & 3-3-3
10 Roland Garros
10 Monte Carlo
10 Barcelona
3 US Open
3 Indian Wells
3 Canadian Open
After La Decima, we now have El Tercero. Let there never be a doubt that Nadal is a force on hardcourt winning 3 big tournaments 3 times each.
2) 2 slams average per surface
With his 3 hardcourt slams previously the argument against it was that there are two hardcourt slams per year and therefore the average was only a minimum of 1.5 per surface.
Now with 10 clay, 2 grass and 4 hardcourt, the average by surface is clearly a minimum of 2.
3) At least 4 finals in each slam
Nadal now has at least 4 finals in each slam... 10 RG, 5 W, 4 AO, 4 USO... Let there never be any doubt that Rafa is a force in all slams. Only Federer & Djokovic have done this.
4) An all-time great career without RG
With his 6th slam outside of clay, the argument that Nadal doesn't have an all-time great career without RG or clay have been shut down forever. He now has even without RG the same amount of career slams as all-time greats Becker & Edberg. And they had 4 shots per year to reach 6, but by eliminating RG it means he did it with 3 shots per year.
5) Weeks at no.1 & Year-end no.1
Also the other argument against him was that he doesn't have enough weeks at no.1 or year-end no.1s, but with the USO win he has now put himself in a great position to do both. He is the favourite for a 4th year finish at no.1 and to also accumulate many more weeks at no.1 leading to next year.
6) Still no losing record to anyone in slam finals
The ultimate match in tennis is a slam final and Nadal despite his massive 16 slams and 23 finals still has no losing record to any player:
6-3 vs Federer, 4-3 vs Djokovic, 1-1 vs Wawrinka, 1-0 vs Ferrer, 1-0 vs Berdych, 1-0 vs Soderling, 1-0 vs Anderson, 1-0 vs Puerta
7) King of Outdoor tennis & Laver
With his USO win, Nadal has now surpassed Federer and is now the sole record holder for most career titles won Outdoor (72). Nadal has also now tied Laver for the number of career titles won (74).
8) Winner of 16 slams and counting...
Nadal has again put himself in the position to go after the slam record... At only 31 years old with many more years left, currently at no.1 playing some of his best tennis, and still a major force even outside of RG thanks to his AO final and USO title this year, it's not a far-fetched idea that he could win 3 more slams in the next 5 years.
Congratulations to Nadal and his fans, the man is truly a legend.
