Tsitsipas black strings

It's hard to see but against Paire he looked to be in a full bed of 4g.
Don’t think he was. In the highlight video you can hear the commentators mention something about using different strings. Pretty sure it’s 4g in mains and natural gut in crosses.

The gauges looked different, and the commentator on Tennis TV (Gilles Müller) said Tsitsi changed his setup, racket and strings. That made me doubt.

Most likely back to 1.25 4G full. Tennis players are stubborn. It's hard to change something that you've been using for over a decade and had tremendous success with.

Full bed of 4g again? This kid will never learn...
He wasn’t gettin the results with other setups. It’s really hard to switch for those who have used the same setup for years.

I doubt any of us have ever had the same racket with same string plus identical specs (latter being most difficult) for over 8+ years. He literally knows how every shot should feel and land.

I used to think he was dumb for sticking to 4G. Now I suspect he’s living with the pain for the results. It probably can’t get worse. He’s likely getting treatment and doing PT to minimize the damage. Who knows.

While I have changed rackets (too much), I have remained with pretty much the same set up for a long time and agree with your post. I also heard from a reputable source that poly has the same effect on pros it does on Joes. They just take longer because their technique is so much better. Speaking strictly about full poly here, hybrids seem to alleviate the effect of poly.

They also have a team to treat them after every match. I bet he has a specific treatment for his arm after every time he plays.
As the players have said at press conferences, they go through a couple hours of treatment after each match.

I think that says it all.

When he tried a hybrid settup. Was he using 4g on mains or crosses?

Is 4g mains and nat gut crosses arm friendly enough for someone w elbow issues? im currently using nat gut mains and alu rough on crosses and my elbow is perfect but I want to try 4g mains and nat gut crosses to increase durability. But im afraid to aggrivate my arm again

I used full bed of tourbite at 51 lbs on my rf97 for a long time until my arm gave out. After time away from the game Iv come back using a pro stock v4 and using this hybrid settup to prevent my arm from dying again.

I think comfort wise, there is not much difference between gut in the mains or crosses.
