Video is poor quality but I cant see why else he would be holding his arm in pain.I can't see the part whete it touched his dad
Just because it was his dad doesn’t make the behaviour any excusable
Yikes. It's highly disappointing to see that from someone like Stef. He's becoming an ambassador of his generation (along with Medvedev) and that will not reflect well on his character. Let's hope that never happens again.
David Nalbandian is that someone you are talking about. This should have been a straight DQ. His dad’s arm was bleeding! Years ago didn’t someone kick a box at the feet of a line person and injury his leg, got disqualified straight away? Just because it was his dad doesn’t make the behaviour any excusable
I’ve always thought he was a brat, he acted it the entire summer hardcourt swing last year. He’s just way too competitive and it spills into raw aggression. All the young guys are plagued with mental problems on the court. Only Medvedev’s actually changed it, and he’s the most successful of the lot.
nalbandian, line person was a complete wuss and a drama queen about it, it was clearly an accidenty and he was very apologetic unless tsittypuss hereThis should have been a straight DQ. Agreed my fellow poster.....Some blame is on ATP for not enforcing the rules ... it's own rules !!!
Tsitsipas should be suspended !!!
I think only young Nadal didn't destroy his equipment when things got tough. I wonder why such behaviour is the norm in this sport. The kids watching this at home are bound to do the same when their time comes.
For some reason, they all lose it when they lose to Kyrgios. Even Nadal.
Because up and coming juniors are fawned over by the adults creating spoiled brats have no real-world boundaries. **** remarks in the presser were disgusting--he had NO empathy and displayed true narcissism saying that he was over it and moving on--hope his mom takes his sticks away and makes him get a real job at a carwash until he learns to behave like a human being.I wonder why such behaviour is the norm in this sport.
Your usual BS troll post--IT WAS MUCH WORSE THEN A REGULAR RACQUET SMASH!!!!--and I'll explain it to you right here--he was totally OUT OF CONTROL!!!--with the force he used, he could have KILLED someone!!!--does that clarify it for you resident troll? Now try to think of something intelligent to say next time you take up valuababble bandwidth on the interwevbs. He didn't mean to hit him why do you care lol? Not any worse than a regular racquet smash
Any player can kill someone when they smash a racquet. Ever seen a player look around and make sure no ball boy is behind them or near them before they smash a racquet? Every play IS OTU OF FCORNTROL when they smash a racquet.Your usual BS troll post--IT WAS MUCH WORSE THEN A REGULAR RACQUET SMASH!!!!--and I'll explain it to you right here--he was totally OUT OF CONTROL!!!--with the force he used, he could have KILLED someone!!!--does that clarify it for you resident troll? I agree. As much as I like Tsitsipas, his antics have been irking me quite a bit. It is actually nicer to see guys like FAA whose conduct is more becoming of a representative of a global sport. I am beginning to get disappointed in Tsitswhat a brat
i hope his dad gave him a good talking to after that
YES! Resident troll--all the time--YOU need to be more observant! Isn't it past your bed-time? You--or I should say I can smash a racquet and still be in control--take some meditation classes--Read your Eckhart Tolle.Ever seen a player look around and make sure no ball boy is behind them or near them before they smash a racquet?
Welcome to the party even though it took you a while, I figured him out like 2 years ago.I agree. As much as I like Tsitsipas, his antics have been irking me quite a bit. Stop bragging . I still hold some hope for Tsitsi. He plays a very exciting brand of tennis. I like Kyrgios too. He is refreshing.Welcome to the party even though it took you a while, I figured him out like 2 years ago.
Tho I still have hopes in Kyrgios.
If players were defaulted for racket smashing, even without hitting someone, this nonsense would stop. Time for Stefanos to grow up! I do like his game though.I think only young Nadal didn't destroy his equipment when things got tough. I wonder why such behaviour is the norm in this sport. True, and well put.Because up and coming juniors are fawned over by the adults creating spoiled brats have no real-world boundaries. **** remarks in the presser were disgusting--he had NO empathy and displayed true narcissism saying that he was over it and moving on--hope his mom takes his sticks away and makes him get a real job at a carwash until he learns to behave like a human being.
You can't cheat who you really are. I was one of the first who entered the ABZ club too. One or two outburts and that's it for me.Stop bragging . I still hold some hope for Tsitsi. He plays a very exciting brand of tennis. I like Kyrgios too. He is refreshing.

It is tough to see in the video, but they show his bruised arm in this photo here:Video is poor quality but I cant see why else he would be holding his arm in pain.
This is actually even worse. He brushes it off as an accident rather than saying that his behaviour was bad. Not good tsitsi. You are losing fans this wayIn interview after the incident, he was asked about his dad's reaction. "... it was fine".
Yes, he was not even a bit apologetic. That's just the way he is, I guess. He has moved on from shoesgate to take the "villain" title from Medvedev - who's now appeared to be the most promising of the lot. This is actually even worse. He brushes it off as an accident rather than saying that his behaviour was bad. Not good tsitsi. You are losing fans this way
Exocet? Had to Google it. Nothing like TW to make you increase your vocabulary. It does seem some players have become literally blind with rage. A couple of years ago Shapovalov managed to slam a ball like an exocet missile into the umpire's eye, and now we have Tantypants Tsitsipas oblivious to the fact he's belting his own father with his racquet. Players should have enough self awareness not to fly into a psychotic rage because they're losing at tennis....and if they can't manage that then DQ is the right option.
I like this idea, but it has to be the NEXT game or they're just going to time the abuse after the last point of a game. Here is an idea, if a player slams a racquet and breaks it, don’t let them replace it, make them play out the current or next game with it, that would put an end to the ludicrous behavior.
