Tsitsipas - Zverev. A new rivalry begins !

Zverev has won more Masters titles than Federer did at his age.

Tsitsipas just became the youngest player to get three top 10 wins (Thiem, Djokovic, Zverev) at a single tournament since a 19-year-old Rafael Nadal at Monte Carlo in 2006.

After Zverev's post match comments where he said of Tsitsipas
“I don’t think he played that well. I think the match was absolutely pathetic on all levels,”
We can say we are officially seeing the start of a new rivalry which I hope will contain multiple slams.
2 handed bh & one handed bh.
Current head to head : 1-1.

Let the games begin! Or as Zverev would say, "Cmon now, let's go! "

Already far better than prime Fedal. Their QF clash in Toronto was an instant classic and will stay forever in my memory. Our grandchildren will talk about that match.
It was a match so intense, gruelling, so close mentally, physically and in score line. At the end, the true was neither player but the sport itself.

Tsitsipas answer is down to earth and so mature of his age:

Yeah, I heard that', said Stefanos. 'Well, there's a quote that -- I'm working with a sports psychologist that's really good. And he told me something, and I remember it since like four or five years. That a good player can be seen in his bad day. And I completely agree with that. The level of tennis today, in my opinion, was not the highest. It was all right. People seemed to love it, love the show and everything. But I would say I played okay. The conditions are different here. So it's really tough for me to compare with Washington. Because Washington, you know, with the conditions and everything was completely different. Speed, surface, it was slightly faster there. So I would say I played more clever this time. I kind of fooled him when I was on the court and did some things that he didn't expect me to do. And I changed my plan since last week. And as I said, I got lots of experience last week and managed to pull it out today in the match.'

Both are great players, have interesting yet contrasting personalities and a very tense relationship to be so young. As a fan of both, I can't wait to see them play against each other many more times and see a rivalry grow, it's gonna be a win/win situation for me

I'm just enjoying a budding rivalry... want to grab a bucket of popcorn, pull up a chair, and giggle at each sour look, heated exchange, and goofy presser. Darth Zverev vs. Stefanos Skywalker... Dread Pirate Zverev vs. Inigo Montsitsipas... Cersei Zverev vs. Daeneyres Tartsitsipas...

One righty & 2 handed bh, the other lefty & one handed bh.

2 young lefty 1handers! The silver lining to the ominously dark cloud that is Zverev

I almost fell asleep watching some of Tsitsipas' interviews! We need interesting players that will bring fans in and create drama. A possible big rivalry between Zverev and Kyrgios would be much more epic.
