I'm sure this has been asked 1,000 times, but I've no idea how I'd even begin to search for the answer to this question :)

What is that weird rising "yelp" that I hear people doing at Roland Garros? It is the weirdest thing I've ever heard....sort of a drawn-out "yiiiiip". Is that some French thing I'm just not acquainted with?

Are you talking about players or what?

That's what TW says ;) And we all know we can absolutely trust that....

It surely looks like one... hard to mistake the shape of the frame or hide it with a PJ.

It showed a close up earlier and I thought I was seeing things

I think it is a French thing. My French is crap, but it seems they say "alleeeeeeeEEEEEEEz" (come on).

hmmm....definitely a plausible explanation, thanks. It must be some sort of fun thing they do, because they're not pronouncing the "all" part...just the "eeeeEEEEEEEz" part, in that weird rising sing-song sound.

Oy! Not the time to net a volley JWT!

What a well timed droppy there.

5 all. Fantastic by Tsonga.

what a huge forehand from Tsonga. 5-5 on serve, I have no idea which way it's going to go and I'm loving it xD

I think Tsonga's going to win this point. I mean.. okay fine, never mind.

Finally a match point on his OWN serve. Ace it, Tsonga!

LOL. Wow... he leaves everyone laughing and smiling. Congrats to Tsonga! Who will he conquer next?

Rochus it is. Loved this match.

Tsonga has never done anything remarkable on clay, while Pico seems in pretty good form. I would be surprised if the argie doesn't take this one easily.

I can't say I am excited about any of tomorrow matches, perhaps Kohly vs JCF, to confirm whether Ferrero can still hold his own on the red dust, he did pretty well against Ljubo. Alas, Djoker will send the winner packing, most likely.

Well, I think I have earned some self-quoting for epic fail.

Hold on a second. You're the #9 player in the world, you beat the #68 player in four sets, and you act like you just beat Federer or something? haha, I like the passion, though.

If Rochus manages somehow to beat Tsonga he is going to become France's #1 Public Enemy, since he has already disposed of Santoro and Clement. Being a Belgian only adds up to it.

haha, I'm not sure there were many people who really thought JWT could do it, clay is his worst surface and Monaco is fantastic on it so it's a really huge win for him really

==

There was a nice little moment in the Monfils match where during a change over they showed the score from this match as match point came up. It was nice to see Monfils reaction to it all ^^

I'd back Tsonga to take out Rochus in the next round (unless he has an off day) which would be a great showing from him

Monaco in 3

6-4 7-5 6-3

Monaco 7-5, 7-6, 6-2.

Monaco for sure, Tsonga is terrible on clay.

lmao I completely forgot Djokovic was playing haha, does this mean I have more tennis to distract me from doing anything productive?

Once again Tsonga thwarts Djokovic. This time not by defeating him but by making him take the court so late.

Unfavorable scheduling for Djokovic in the works already. Why was his match scheduled last 5th. It was clear that he would likely not be able to finish today.

Hahahahahahaha. Federer paid Tsonga and Monaco. Next thing you know 1 day of rest between matches is not enough.

Every time someone has to play last on one court. So today it`s Djokovic, big deal.Does Djokovic need special treatment so he plays whenever he wants.Yesterday it was Davydenko so every day it`s someone else

He's 24 years old and that was only his 3rd match played at RG, as a professional. If the guy wants to be a bit emotional after such a tense and fun match, I have no problems with that.

Seed #4 is usually not put in this situation.

This has nothing to do with Tsonga or Monaco.
Organizers are shafting Djokovic again. The point is he will not have a full day of rest between matches now, since he will likely have to finish this match tomorrow and than play his round 3 match the next day.

So Federer paid organizers, right?

They should have just cancelled the match and told ALL the spectators to go home instead. Who cares about spectators? Djokovic is way way way more important.

Haha, I love it! You conveniently forget to mention that his next opponent, Ferrero or Kohlschreiber, also has to finish their match tommorow, and it is an intense five-setter. You said it yourself, a match didnt mean anything if both players arent equally rested. For someone who throws around the word hypocrte so much, you sure are a pretty big one.

And I am a huge Djokovic fan too!

No you got it wrong. Both players should be equally rested, not equally tired. Also this will spill over to the 4th round, since they will again be scheduled to play late on Friday with probable continuation on Saturday, and so on and so on. Someone must have planned this well in advance. It is not an accident that Federer yet again got the best possible slot and court. While Djokovic is shafted once more.

Also what they did to Nadal yesterday is also not respectable for the #1 seed and 4 times defending champion.
