Tsonga Racquet Change

I don't know if the change has to do anything with his wins at the AO, but I remember reading that he liked the Bab better than his previous sick and he was happy to be playing with it. If one feels comfortable with a racquet, that's already something less to worry about. It seems to work for him!

I think Tsonga's just feeling a lot more confident with the new stick. Seems to be hitting the ball with more authority off both wings and is playing the best since his run in 2008.

I think he has certainly lost some power with the new racquet, but seems to be hitting the ball in play more consistently.

I think pros are not happy with wilson. Many have switched and there performance has also been benefited. The upcoming players are using babolat and head more than any other racquet.

the wilson rackets haven't changed for decades, except the paints.

every generation consists of the same pieces of junk.

I wouldnt know. To be honest, I think Tsonga has had a fairly easy draw, and although its really good he came through and really toughed it out today against Djokovic, I dont really see him living up to his potential yet. That might change if he beats Federer on friday.

I think Djokovic can only play best of 3 set matches. Is his fitness an issue or he really had stomach problems as said in the post match interview.

u guys are gonna hate this..... but

I have inside info which may or may not be true..... that Tsonga's stick is a painted over Wilson.

Hey, I wouldn't be the first time. Although it's a pretty extreme one.

I doubt that, mainly due to the fact that his game has changed, he plays differently, but hey you could be right.

The serve looks abit bigger...He hit like 20 plus aces against Djokovic today. These Babolat frames are popular amongst the big servers: Karlovic, Carsten Ball, Roddick etc.

I tried the same switch almost. It takes a while to get control over that thing. I ended up ditching it after a whole year. It wouldn't surprise me if it is a painted Wilson.

Absolute fraud if it is.

Nope... it's the genuine APDGT as it has genuine Babolat Woofer grommets on it. The Kobra Tour does not have Woofer type grommets.

Ever since he switched to the Babolat APDGT he has been more consistent from the baseline and his net game has also improved. He's also using the new black Babolat string and thats another reason why Tsonga is playing better.

yep.. that is what it is... it's the racquet... in fact, had Tsonga leave the racquet alone there laying in the ground and djokovic might had also lose...

seriously... what is wrong with this forum made of people who are supposed to like tennis?

No additional lead

I notice there's no additional (visible) lead on his APDGT as well.

Aero throat's a dead give-a-way tbh. Don't know how anyone could think it's the kobra over apd's.

If so, BB pj is better than Wilson's :) just kidding, I remember Nole struggling when he left Wilson.

I'd like to believe that Tsonga's skills (I mean the player) is more important than his racquet :-?
