Lol just checked all 3 FH take backs out. Bb has a bigger take back indeed. Seems like mine is in between, and TP has the smallest.
I don't have any wrist injury, maybe mine is shorter because it makes timing easier and it's always windy where I play. Dunno.

There is windy ... and then there is what you were hitting in. It's typically 5-15 here ... but we get 25 mph gusty days sometimes. I have learned with ball machine sessions, it takes around 25 mph wind to make a ball lying on the court take off rolling across the court like in your video. Depending on how bad I want to hit, I will usually skip hitting the ball machine over 15 mph. Hitting with someone is ok past that.

Lol yeah 25mph is insane. The thing is, as you could see in the video my club is next to this huge body of water. The forecast for the city was 25kmph (15mph) but cos we're next to the water and unprotected from winds on all sides its probably more like 25mph. Also we have grass courts too which we play on for league.. LOL combine bad rolling bounces and those kinds of winds, being mentally resilient is one of the most important traits to develop for winning at my club

What's wrong with an inside out forehand ??
@BallBag how tall are you? I think you picked a good game style for your physique. I think I'm a little skinnier / shorter than you but maybe a bit better mover (when my groin isn't injured). I think you'd match up well against me though, my volleys are much worse than TP. I'd just engage in baseline bashing with no plan B LOL I guess the winner would depend on consistency and focus
I'm 6' and 180lb. Watching my own video, I could definitely work on movement.

In my second season of 4.5 tennis when I basically went undefeated, I imposed my “will” on every single opponent.

It went something like this:
1. Opponent has strong groundstrokes - go ahead and hit them as hard and accurate as you can, I’ll get everything back until you miss.

2. Opponent is confident at the net - please approach the net, I will pass you.

3. Opponent is consistent - lol... good luck with that, you will miss before I do.

I used my serve to start the point, I used my return to start the point, I rarely came to net, I often didn’t go for clean winners but rather forced errors. I minimized my own unforced errors and made every match as physical as possible.

But... this style has its limits and is not the style I want to adapt into my game this time around.

yeh it's called pushing

So I was watching the match again and I noticed a couple of new things. My split step is starting after the ball has left the racquet and my slice has a OHBH take back. Also, my backhand wraps over the top of my shoulder instead of side of shoulder.
How do I even get the ball over the net.

On you slice bh, your backswing is too low and too short. You’re almost bunting the ball. That is why, it typically only works, when the incoming ball has pace. Most slices or slow balls against your bh slice end up in the net.
Try making sure your backswing has the racquet head above your shoulder. Your timing will suffer for a while and you may have more floaters due to chopping, but if you persevere and make sure your swing is right, you’ll end up with a much more reliable slice

@BallBag - next time you're on the court, take some good video of your BH slices with hand-feeds or against a ball machine, and post them on Jolly's slice thread, there is some good info in there:

Beating up on your friends dad. Lol. This forum is so funny. Why didn't papa slice and dice? And why didn't ballsack freak out when papa approached the net like all of tw old folks club hack and dice claim would happen? Its proven that younger players cannot handle anything but baseline hitting on here

@TennisProdigy - have you watched much video of Nishioka?

His lefty FH reminds me of your shot...

Food for thought, he might be a good model for certain parts of your game?

Yeah I like Nishioka, I was disappointed when he got that terrible knee injury a couple years back. I remember that same year I watched him beat wawrinka at the citi open I believe.
