Interesting. I wasn't aware that turtle eggs were a delicacy elsewhere in the world.

I live next to a beach where turtle lay their eggs. Areas of the beach will be marked off as areas to stay away from due to sea turtle eggs being there. In front of my street is a turtle street crossing sign.

Well, they are rather harsh with penalties around here when it comes to harming beach life. I don't remember for sure but I believe the penalty for removing and take home a shell that has a live creature in it can be a few days in prison along with a $10,000 fine. If a turtle egg is stolen I'm guessing the iron maiden is used for punishment. Anyway I'm allergic to eggs, at least chicken eggs, so turtle eggs are off my menu.
