TW 2015 Fall Doubles League (FDL)

Some of you guys have been asking for it, so here it is!

We will be starting an Fall Doubles League and invite you guys to check out the competition.

We have 6 teams playing -- each team will play every team twice, and then we will finish with a tournament.

We will be keeping this thread updated with match times, results and links to our Playsight Court (www.playsight.com) so you can keep up with any matches you want to watch.

Play starts this week!

The teams:

- Spencer & Andy (returning champs)
- Michelle & Brittany
- Chris & Marco
- Troy & Sebastian
- Mark Boone & Granville

The format will be 8-game pro-sets; regular scoring; tiebreak at 8-8

Any questions on gear, strategy, etc. can be asked here or on the chat feature via PlaySight/YouTube when you are live streaming. We will also be featuring some fun stuff on our blog and social media and will keep you updated with that as well!

I actually like this better than watching racquet reviews. It's cool to see you guys play full points warts and all. You are all very good and I only watched a bit of each match. I'm pretty sure I don't want to have to face Andy or Marco's serve our return anytime soon!

It's THURSDAY which means we have some great matchups today! Playsight should be back up and working!

Last week, just one match was played -- Brittany and I played Troy & Sebastian and beat them 8-3.

Team Blonde has the BYE this week (but we have a fun doubles video coming at you soon).

Andy & Spencer will take on Chris & Marco at 11am PST
and
Sebastian & Troy will take on Granville & Mark following at 12:30pmPST

We will post a link when they start!

There will also be a makeup match from last week tomorrow (Friday) @ 1pm PST (Andy & Spencer vs. Granville & Marco).

Michelle and Brittany, Thanks for posting the doubles drills video. Very helpful suggestions. I've been mostly a singles player for the past several years but now I'm getting into playing more doubles and the drills you both do are going to inspire me to improve my game. Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words! We were both predominantly singles going into college and both fell in love with doubles in college. We have continued that at Tennis Warehouse. Team Blonde is always looking for a challenge! Please let us know if you have any questions!

Okay, Team Blonde is obvious. Team Centennials I'm assuming is in reference to age. Team Commonwealth has to do with both being from the UK or a UK commonwealth....am I right so far?

This leaves me with GM, what does that mean? And most of all, who or what is Johnson and O'Leary?

Yes, you are right so far. GM refers to the heritages of the two playtesters and Johnson and O'Leary are two old school boxers (there is a reference to them in the movie Anchorman).

Tournament week is upon us!

We made a tournament and the semis will be played Wednesday starting at 3pm PST and the Finals are scheduled for Thursday at 11am PST.

We will add live streaming when it starts!
