First of all, just want to start by saying, THE CHAMP IS HERE!

Now, with that out of the way, its once again time for our annual foray into fantasy football land. I sent out invites about a month ago now, and thankfully 7 of you have already checked in and rejoined the league! This will still be a 12 team league, and I already know of one other owner who will be back (unfortunately lol) so that means either 3 of you have spots that are waiting for you or will become open to possibly new owners.

I will resend invites for anyone who didn't get one.

Now as far as the draft, I recall there being a thought of changing it up. In the past it was always champs had first pick, but some prefer mid round pick. If preferred I can open it up and let league standings determine when you choose where you want to pick at. Or I can totally randomize it and open it up for everyone. My ears are open.

Tentative date for the draft is Sunday, September 6 at 8 pm Eastern Time. As always, subject to change. So feel free to check in, talk trash, and let me know if you have any suggestions for the season! :)

I think drafting in order of the previous year's finish works well (though I'd always rather be at #5 or so), as it shows some continuity. My only suggestion is the same that I made last year about waivers: I prefer it reset weekly based on reverse order of standing, as that maintains some incentive for those who are struggling. The continuous rolling list (?) allows those at the top to pick up the best players on the waiver wire every week, as they don't need to pick up multiple players, whereas those below them in the standings stay below them in waiver priority as they always have to make multiple adds to augment their roster.

Anyway, whichever way works for you kids.

And I assume the 'unfortunate other owner' is the foul mouthed one! :cool:
 
I'll take it into consideration, but i still think the rolling setting adds an element of strategy to waiver claims, in that you really have to think about who you want to claim and when.
 
I missed this thread for some reason. Looking for redemption this season after last season's collapse. Sep. 6th sounds good.
 
Still 2 spots open. Also would like more feedback on the Sept 6 draft date. It will definitely be in September though, just need to know if that specific date works for everyone.
 
Sorry guys I really been slackin. But the draft is still the 6th (next Sunday) at 7est.

Also, I would like everyone to please chime in on their preference for the draft order. Previous years we've done it where champ picks 1st, RU picks 2nd, etc based on last years standings. But I do want to change that if everyone is down, and just do it random. Let me know your opinions.

I rejoined but now find that I'm in too many leagues. Please drop me from the TT league. I'm sure someone here will fill my spot.
 
thanks for pushing back the draft JBF#1. Random sounds good, a lot of new guys so it's fair now. You better hope your luck from last year runs into this year ;).
 
Unfortunately we do have two owners who already are inactive and not managing their teams. Fortunately, it still is relatively early in the season , so if you are interested in joining the leage and taking over one of these teams please let me know and I would be happy to add you to the league.

Could we get a list going of which team belongs to which poster? Would be nice to know who we're going up against each week.
