Lets start a new thread. "We want PT630 CAP" and how many you would like from TW
I don't think the country of manufacture is the issue for people who long for the Austrian frames; the issue is that many people feel that the composition of those frames was superior. The PT630/280 is one of the best frames I have played with, and anything close to the original frame would interest me.
It is probably not possible to match the composition of the original racquet. I would test the racquet, and if it played close to the original PT630/280s, I would probably buy three.
A PT630 with twaron and 16x19?
Please no, I'd have to spend all of my savings to get as many as possible...
i would be happy with the layup that they are currently offering to murray and Djok
^^^ what if they feel completely different from each other? How do you know you'll even like them?
Count me in for four 280/630's.
If this happens count on grown men (myself included) weeping openly in the streets.
offer one of each???
What I was getting at was that it's strange to request the layups of 2 rackets you've never hit with before that you may not even like. Dont get me wrong, I hope TW brings back every racket. More options for us, but the PC600 or PT630 makes more sense than some random lay-ups nobody has ever used.
Murray and Djokovic play with tow different racquets.
I almost bought a PS85 reissue even though I've never used the racket before (just demo'd it) and I KNOW it's not the right racket for me. haha
If the 280/630 was reissued, I'd probably buy 4.
If it had a 16x19 pattern, I'd honestly buy as many as I can.
In fact, I'm going to start selling of some rackets asap just in case this actually happens (I want the money ready, in hand).
Would get 2 racquets
I don't have any interest in the PT 280 or PT630, but I would definitely get a few PC 600s.
bring back the Prestige 600
Lets bring back the 600! If it's Antartica or China in origin, who cares?
to me the country of origin isn't important as long as the spec & cosmetic is exact. i'd pick up a few of these as well as a few PC600s.
Either the PC600 or the 280/630 would be great. I mainly use the 600, but have a 280. I'd add more of either as long as they were the same comp/specs. Not overly concerned with origin as long as the quality is same.
Maybe the origin of where it is manufactured matters to some extent?
Reason being, I offered 4 of my Austrian-made Liquidmetal Prestige mid (the latter batches are China made) for sale in pristine condition and it was snapped all at once by the same guy (no time for a rethink...and they are not even PC600s or PC630s).
I think the guy just wanted consistency. What's being discussed here is the origin does not matter, as long as the entire batch/order is coming from the same origin.
Probably the same thing with guy who bought your LM Prestige Mid, Austrian or China made, he wanted it to be consistent.
I don't have any evidence to back whether there are difference between the two origins, but if these were my sticks, I too want them all to be from one origin. Antarctica or not, I want them to be the same as much as possible.
I would have to agree because it was the momentary shock that hit me; not expecting for it to go that fast. Therefore leaving me thinking, was I wrong to unload my Austrian made sticks? Just can't help but wonder if there is a correlation.
Anyways, back to PC600, imo the majority (bar some) of folks here won't find the country of origin from where the sticks are made so long it maintains the same consistency to it.
I might pick up a few for fun. REISSUE!
I love the Green & Silver Pretisge 600 and I wish to see the Prestige S in that cosmetic.
This thread is seriously goating. I think everyone would buy at least one of these sticks. I bought the Donnay Agassi Reissue, and that thing felt like butter.
The LM Prestige was NEVER made in China. The later batches were finished in the Czech Republic but were still manufactured in Austria. The first Prestige to be made in China was the Flexpoint Prestige.
So that's why the Flexpoint crap sucked?
The PT280 would be an awesome racquet for you guys to bring back Chris.
I have another questions for you. What would be the chance of getting PT57A's, or having the PT280 made to a lighter and more customizable weight? Think that would be awesome if we could get a pro stock type frame that we can make our own.
But the liquidmetal Prestige sucked and was crap too.
Honestly, I think all Prestige Mid after the i.Prestige Mid were disappointing.
5 years with the i.Prestige Mid, then another 5 years with the PC600. Maybe I got used to that old-school solid feel of the PC600 (i.Prestige Mid too), but all the rest felt more flimsy compared to the PC600.
But of course, any Prestige Mid is still more solid than 90% of the frames out there today.
What do you think of the newest IG Prestige mid? It felt a lot like my PC600 when I took a few hits with it.
They sure dont make them like the I.prestige and pc600 anymore. I actually like the I.prestige mid and midPlus more than the pc600 or pt630. With that being said, I haven't tried the newest prestige though I've
Heard good things and out of the recent ones I've tried, I liked the microgel (I actually own one).
The IG Prestige Mid is the closet to the Prestige Classic 600 that I have ever hit with.
That is great to hear you felt the same.
If TW was to reissue the 630, it probably would not have twaron and I wonder if it would feel the same as the old one as well?
The greatest thing would be to rerelease the 630 with a 16x19 drill pattern. Wow.
You see since the IG Prestige Mid felt so much like the Prestige Classic 600 I was so hopeful that the IG Prestige MP would feel like the Pro Tour 630. But was disappointed. If HEAD can do it with the Mid why could they have not done it with the MP. HEAD got the feel perfect with the MID and missed the mark with the MP.
I should rephrase my previous post. I've tried every "modern" Prestige Mid except for the IG variant.
I have let a local 5.0, who uses the YOUTEK version of Prestige Mid try my PC600. He summed it up by saying: "This takes a lot of work (compared to his YOUTEK version)"
I want to try the IG. I really do. But something about the stupid looking, hipster-wanna-be clear CAP. I can swap out the clear CAPS, but I cannot swap out the circuit-board designs make me want to puke. It's tennis racquet, not a motherboard!
To me, a Prestige Mid should always be stealthy, simple, unassuming. It's even better if it comes in sparkly candy red, and DARK CAPS.
i'd buy 2. please reissue. either the red or black/green cosmetics.
I stand corrected, the latter batches were indeed finished in the Czech Republic. Same with my LM Radical MP.
Sorry but can you tell me about the Prestige with Intelligence Fiber; did I really missed it? I mean, was it even a 600/93 sq. in.?
stealthy, simple, unassuming ==> sparkly
kidding.. i have a pc600 MIA and those sparkly flecks look pretty good on the frame
Yep, there definitely was an i.Prestige mid (600); I had one about 10 yrs ago... one of the better versions of this racquet ever produced. Also one of the only Prestiges that didn't use the candy apple red color scheme. I really wish I hadn't sold mine, but I had a lust for more power and a larger headsize at the time.
If you want to see one, there are a few for sale on the big auction site. Sellers are asking far too much for these though, IMO.
Okay, thanks for the info. Not really looking to acquire one, tend to skip in-between iterations but totally lost track or was away from tennis around the time of Intelligence Fibers...it must be the black with a little yellow I see being lugged around by coaches but it is evidently in bigger head size.
Also, it was a nice change in color scheme. Looked like a Terminator would use it.
I agree, but if you have guys like VSB saying it plays like the PC600, then who cares how it looks? I appreciate a good PJ as much as the next guy, but when I find a great stick I dont care how it looks. I know my yonex's are not the sexiest, but they look fine and more importantly feel like a million $$s.
PJs are really no big deal..no one notices that much out on the courts.
I say release the Sloane Stephens GROAT! 16/19 Prestige Mid. Have her endorse it. With that sweet face, ladies and gents will then not be threatened by playing with a mid anymore. Boom.
And of all the paintjobs out there to bash, the IG Prestiges are not one of them. They look great compared to 90 percent of what comes out lately, and the caps can be switched to the black if you so choose. And like PP and Vs said, they play like pure beauties. Control and feel is epic.
Agree..a 16x19 prestige needs to happen, as does the 16x19 MP, which they should just reissue as a "remastered" PT630 and please a large portion of tennis players.
In all honesty, as VSB has said many times, the best pro stock stick has been sold on TW for a long time - it is the dunlop 4d/AG 300 tour and it has classic feel and is light enough to be modded.
they called it the Head Premier
The Premier Tour 600 was a different animal. It was a true 600cm2 head size with 20mm beam width and 16x19 string pattern. It played nothing payed nothing like the Pro Tour 630 or a Prestige Classic 600 with a open string pattern. It was pretty bad. It was brassy and unstable. Nobody that I knew liked them. The guys I knew that were playing Pro Tour 630 and could not get paint jobs all switched to the Radical Tour TwinTube 630 candy cane.
Why re-release the Prestige Classic? The YT IG Prestige Mid is a very good racket and much better suited to the modern game. Of course the Prestige Classic is atill a great racket but things have moved on. Now, the RD7 would be another matter...
What can you do with the IG and the PC600 can't?
The IG swings lighter, has more pop and retains most of the feel. Frankly, it's still not enough power for me anymore but I'm an aging 5.0 who never was a very clean hitter anyhow (for a 5.0).
You put it very well. The IG YT feels as if the head is bigger and the string pattern more forgiving without losing anything in touch or precision.
Let's not let this thread die! We must show our support for the reissue of the PC600 and PT630!
I would buy at least two of the 600 and four of the 630 in either 3/8 or 1/2 grip depending on the specs.
Separate names with a comma.
