I live north of Nashua. I play at Nashua South regularly until it gets too cold which is probably right around now. Are you in the big Merrimack Valley tennis email list? I also played at Nashua North if school happens to be in session because you can't park in the Nashua South parking lot without a student or faculty pass while Nashua North has a small parking lot off to the side of the sports fields without parking restrictions. The problem with Nashua North is that you're in a very large bowl so you get some pretty heavy swirling winds on the courts.

This hitting video needs to be a sticky. If technique obsessed posters spent more time hitting and less time posting on the bisection angle of patting the dog on ATP forehands, maybe they could hit a ball as well as you!

+1 Coolio! Nice post

Haha I absolutely agree about the obssession with techinque and mechanincs. I see all kinds of posts here with random words I don't even understand (ellenbecker video, internal shoulder rotation, the mechaning of the atp forehand).
I've known and worked with coaches who worked with world class tennis players, and trust me, there is no super complicated technique crap, when they change something in your strokes, it's just plain simple things, like evident things that need to be changed.

Are you looking into playing college in the States? You've got the strokes, how's it going in your matches?

I know I'm going to sound like a buzzkill, but Santi would struggle against big hitters on hardcourts, his game seems based for clay. Huge takeback technique usually gets broken down in the course of a match. Maybe Santi should try and compact his swings, esp on his backhand and stand closer to the baseline. Sure he can play most points behind it but he must adapt at college. Either way, I'm being picky and all gamestyles can work.

You stop it, you stop that nonsense talk right now!! Don't you know where you are?!?! This is TTW, and such sentences are not allowed here! Do you want to get on the bad side of our resident gurus?? They make the Illuminati look like a bunch of 5 year olds playing at a McDonald's playground.
Don't you know that Federer, Wawrinka, Djoker and others post and read these boards daily looking for that extra edge in their game? Why do you think Roddick retired so early? Yea, thats right he was banned from TTW!!! Poor guy didn't even do anything wrong, he just asked too many unwanted questions and made one wrong statement which "The Council" did not agree with and poof next morning he was gone! All his posts deleted, no trace. You wanna end up like that?

DelPo, Solderling and Gulbis would like to have a talk with you, outside after school by the bike racks. Come alone.

Like what the french did to wawrinka? The newspapers reported it was just clearing the air but one poster shared this story. NSFW

Stan finishes what he set out to do, he strides purposefully for the exit to rejoin his follow teammates. Suddenly an arm reaches in front of him and blocks his path.
'Salut Stanislas' Benneteau's face appears as Stan traces the arm back to it's owner 'Having a comfort break I see?' Benneteau appears is unsincerely friendly.
'Oui Benne' Stan confirms 'I think I deserve one now as I didn't need to take one during our doubles match you see'
Julian's full low eyebrows raise above their normal resting set. 'I think you're had enough Champagne my ami'
Overhearing suddenly the distinctive sound of bowed legged footsteps approach, Gasket is furious 'You were lucky not to face moi in the first rubber you red knosed Suisse gnome'
Stan is unphased and makes to leave but a strong muscular hand falls on his shoulder. He turns around to be greeted by the rest of the French team with Tsonga's hand continuing to caress him firmly, his face curiously observing Stan's deltoids.
'Please guys, I just came here to piscine' Stan pleads.
Tsonga's face becomes more serious 'We heard you guys gloating, we heard you laughing that you have finally filled that "gaping" hole easily thanks to us, well.' He turns to the rest of the team to exchange a look like sharing an inside joke before turning back to Stan and brings his face closer 'We thought we could help you too with a certain hole in your career'
Stan's eye's widen and his lips part slightly. He makes a move to push Tsonga's manly arm out of the way but it suddenly set upon by Simon and Monfils who push him against the cold tiled wall, their eyes as wide as Stan's. Not in fear, but in excited anticipation for what is to come. Monfils gets closer to Stan's ear and whispers to him 'This will be our "5th rubber" that you sneaked out of playing against me, I'll "destroy" you more than Richard was in the last match'
'Please no' Stan futilely struggles against the superior strength unable to prevent his tennis shorts from falling down to expose a pair of red and white briefs, "STANIMAL" proudly lettered on the rear. A collective "oh lala" is exclaimed as Stan's body quivers, a single tear rolls from his red shot eye.
'Let's see if you're really the "crybaby" Mirka said you are'" Bennetau proclaims to the mob. A cacoffiny of Gallic laughter echoes hauntingly off the bathroom tiling. Gasquet removes his beret and then I black out...

Wow sez, that post was gold. :)

Aretium, Santi's strokes and positioning are more suited for clay than hard, but he hits a very nice ball, can hit a big serve, and may be able to adjust. What he needs if he wants a D1 scholarship is match results. If he has those, coaches won't care how he hits.

Match results. That is the key, we see hundreds of beautiful players but we don't know what's going on. This is why I said, if his gamestyle works in matchplay it works. If you feel comfortable playing your game, rather than listening to a coach and playing something out of your comfort zone, this can hurt your execution amongst other things.

What do you think about these two guys?
I'm in black/blue (vid. 1) and white/red (vid. 2)
Can you give me some suggestions :)

Serve
Your serve has a few issues,
tarikserva_zps6db675a4.jpg

Where Sampras' racket is in this image, is about as far as you want to go before the swing. You are also going too far with the right foot and this is killing the coil of your hip and shoulders (and also footfaulting :p). Finally keep that left hand up more and a bit longer as your shoulders are too level. Also Loosen the hand muscles.

Footwork - Split step on all balls. Your developing good movement on clay, but you are a bit slow to react because you don't have a split step.

Groundstrokes- Nice racket prep on both sides, you need to learn how to use your hips and shoulders.
Forehand- when you have time to set up your forehand is good (footwork lets you down most often, so split step and early preparation is important). Loosen up the hand a lot as well.

Backhand- it looks like your contact point is off (too close to your body and in line with it), probably because you are hitting the ball late. Try and hit from the shoulders.

Pozdrav Sarajlija :) U Mostaru ništa novo, osim dosta sunca prošlih dana :)
Hvala ti puno na komentaru.
Split-step obavezno - kada sam pogledao video iznenadio sam se kako izgledam lijeno, tj. rijetko kad se krećem i pripremam za udarac.

Welp here's a little hitting session I had with a friend who ended up taking off a year. I was on a 2-week hiatus because of the weather, and I was too lazy to get out there. :p

We both rated this session a 3 out of 10. We just have to knock all the rust off.

That and it was windy. I hate windy...

I promise I'll have better footwork and strokes next time!
