TW Reviews: Head Youtek Innegra Prestige Racquets

TW, awesome reviews, can you elaborate on the feel of the S? Does it feel more like a Radical on impact rather than a Prestige? How would you categorize the flex of the frame? Thanks guys.

It actully sounds like there is a difference with the new ig models.
I thought there would be very little difference, but I am glad to see the change.

Yeah, the TW testers did an outstanding job getting all of these reviews in so quickly with all of the new January offerings flooding the market. Nice job and great hitting.

Good reviews.

The swing weight on the MP and Pro should be switched. Also, Carol states the swing weight on the MP 'irritated her arm'. Unless she switched frames? It states she plays with the BLX95 16x18, which a higher static and swing weight than the MP. A bit confused. Is this thing swinging heavier than spec'd out?

could be that it is too whippy, and she was using more arm than normal.. and thus causing some arm discomfort.

carol has great mechanics. not sure what she meant. my favorite part is watching the points play out!

TW, noticed that the playtester scores on Prestige S are identical on each point for Chris and Brittany. One of these is probably wrong, guessing Chris's scores are incorrect??

Vasuri,

Thanks for the head's up. The problem is fixed.

anyone know if the clear/white cap grommets of these new racquets would work on the youtek version? i would assume so, because they're the same width/string pattern, but i haven't seen one of the new IG frames in person.

Question for Chris since he said he's switching to the IG Prestige MP.

How does it compare to the YT MP? I have the YT MP but feel its a bit too muted. I like the iPrestige MP much better.

IG tension

I noticed the recommended tension for the prestige mp is lower than the previous models. Does anybody know why?

Thanks

I wish people would compare the MPs in this line to the old PT280. They always compare the mids to the old version but never the MP. I'm curious how they compare.

Question to Jason about the Prestige S...

All the playtesters mentioned a lack of pace on serves and also a lack of power and depth on shots in general. Are you finding you have to work harder to hit deep or serve hard with the S? I found that this racquet in stock form is pretty low powered and requires a fast swing. I haven't tried it with lead yet, but I hope some leadtape will cure the lower lower and lack of plowthru.

Yea. I would definitely lead it up a bit. Just about .2-.3 ounces. I wouldn't change the balance though. I thought I'd like it more head light, but I put on a leather grip to make it more HL and I didn't like it as much.

I would do the opposite. Just add lead at 3/9 or 12 to increase power and plow. This racquet needs more oomph behind the ball IMO. Making it more headlite would do nothing to add much needed plowthru.
Jason... are u contemplating a switch to the S?

Of course it would do something. To make it more hl you need to add some mass below bp. More mass ALWAYS = more plowthru regardless where you put it.

yes but it depends on what you are after. For me, this racquet needs more plowthru with the least amount of weight added possible. I prefer a HL balance of only 3-5 pts. It helps get more pace on serve and also lets the racquet do the work once you get it moving. The Pros prefer very headlite racquets because they don't need any help from the racquet.

When you add ANY weight yes it does increase swingweight and plowthru, but the closer to the tip, the greater the impact and the closer to the handle, the less the impact.

I don't know why they let Carol review this or any racquet to be honewt, she finds the prestige mp heavy yet she uses the six one 95 with has a much higher swing weight, she completely ruined the review

So how did that "ruin the review"?

TW Staff, I like your reviews, but I don't know if they reflect the reality.

I mean, you give 84 points to the IG Prestige Pro, and 79 points to the IG Prestige MP.

It's THAT good, keeping in mind that Youtek Prestige Pro received 80 points two years before?

Also, Chris gave IG Prestige MP 87 points, but the others 75 points.
It says that he even switched to the MP after the review, because he liked it more than the Pro.

What could buyers understand from this?

And no offence, but if Mark Boone is a 5.0 then I am Roger Federer. He is a good guy, who makes good reviews...he just have to change his technique.

Let's say that the new Head Graphene Prestige MP, will be EVEN better that IG Prestige Pro.
Will you give it a 90 points score? I mean, when you give points for a racquet, do you look to the last model's score, or it's random?
