LM radical tour vs. LM prestige Midplus, what would be the difference? I've thought Radicals are lighter/easier players' racquets. Now LM radical tour is 12.3 oz, what's the concept of new radical? Just curious.

LM radical tour MP (TW exclusive)
98sq in
12.3oz
6pt HL
332 swing weight
63 flexibility
18x20

LM prestige MP
98sq in
11.9oz
8pt HL
325 swing weight
63 flexibility
18x20

I'm curious about the similarities between these 2 racquets as well. For those that have hit with both, does one play more flexible than the other even though they have the same flex rating?

I think the term, "lighter/easier players' racquet" is really an oxymoron. There's really no such thing. If it's lighter and easier to play with then it's really a tweener. I think the purpose of the LM Radical Tour is to have a heavier player's racquet with some of the same characteristics as the regular MP version (e.g., beam width, head size, paintjob, etc.). However, due to the weight and more even balance, it should play differently. It has the weight that better players and pros require to defend against hard struck balls and has the stability they need to hit the ball hard. The weight also gives them more power with their long, loopy, fast strokes. But, of course, you need to have the strength, and be in top physical condition to wield a heavy stick over a long match.

Both racquets have a completely different feel, IMHO. The Prestige MP feels lighter, more maneuverable and slightly softer (dampened). The Radical Tour MP feels more responsive, swings with more weight, feels more stable and I found some extra pop from the heavier weight of the Radical Tour.
Out of the two I prefer the Radical Tour, hands down. I was able to get more weight on my shots with the Radical Tour. Most importantly, I was getting more penetration on my shots form all areas of the court, but especially on groundstrokes.
If I was more of a serve and volley player, I'd go with the Prestige, but I prefer to start the point from the baseline and the Radical was a better fit for my game.

Hope this helps.

Oops, my bad. I misread the original post and thought you wanted to compare the LM Radical Tour with the standard LM Radical MP. Please disregard my post above on the comparison between the two. However, the things I said about the LM Radical Tour's weight and stability are still valid.

No problem breakpoint. I was just wondering if it's a new movement from Head, introducing heavier, new line of player's racquet which evolves from traditional radical line. I liked Ti radical OS (not so much i radical, haven't tried LM version tho) but eventually moved on because I felt it's lighter than I like. Maybe some lead tape on the Ti rad can make a big difference? It will be a very interesting experiment cause I like the feel of Ti Rad OS. Anyway, it will be interesting how this new heavy radical MP will do.

Questions for Chris,

I playtested the LMP and it had a nice feel to it. I haven't tried the Radical tour though, but would you say some lead in the LMP at 3 and 9 would give about the same "swing characteristics" but more feel? I wanna buy a new racket and I'm doubting between the 2.
I have the strength to wield heavier sticks ( I play with a racket close to 14 ounce with a balance point at 31 cm atm.) and I can't decide between the 2..........

Regards
