Hey, dude. Been battling Balrog, trying to make the big change from Grey to White. Ha.

Actually, been busy finalizing the purchase of our new house in Memphis; we close tomorrow, so we'll have a home waiting for us when I finally get to retire. Also been dealing with having to play 4.0 now that USTA has virtually shut me out from any leagues. No 3.5 captains were asking me to play, so why would 4.0 captains suddenly start beating down my door? Still frustrated with that.

And when I complained on another thread about the bump after just 3 matches at the 4.0 super senior level (60 or older), all losses, 0-6 in sets, our friend Topaz actually started a thread calling us complainers "whiners." Kinda pizzed me off, the Queen of Napa Valley calling someone else a whiner.

Besides, much of the conversation in the other thread has been of little interest to me lately. Can't see jumping into a discussion on something about which I know very little.

And I was very clear about which type of posters I was referencing when I made that thread and even suggested that you try a medical appeal, as I agreed with your specific complaint.

But at least now I know how you really feel.

Congrats Gandalf!

It was nice chatting with you today.

The TWMAC must miss you dearly. There has been a recent spurt of beard and mustache growing with the male members in the chapter. Is this a way to fill the void that Xisbum has left. I would agree if we all of a sudden started wearing neon colors.

You have a tough act to follow. The night my son was born in Rota, my Navy buddy took me out on the town - all night long. Somehow, the next morning we ended up in a Spanish vineyard, helping some bemused Spaniards pick grapes. I left bunches of them on the doorsteps of several friends as a birth announcement.

Again, drinks will be on me. All you gotta do is get me home safe and in one piece. I want to be around to teach this new bum how to hit a drop shot and to understand what "We few, we happy few" really means. :grin:

P.S. The grapes were purple; been partial to that color ever since.

Docs are say mid July, but it's a first child and they can be obstinate. Our son was 2 weeks late.

You would love Memphis in July; hot and steamy. great tennis and beer-drinking weather.

And they still have those hamburgers cooked in that 90+ year-old grease, plus the best barbecue on this planet. :-D
