They can't handle anything which has a weird spin, trajectory that they are not use to. Like some bizarre double handed serve.

I should have tried that one season. I had a stress fracture in my hitting hand and played through it for half a high school season. On really bad days, I played left handed and probably could have won a couple matches lefty if I could have served. Never thought of trying a two-handed serve.

What would be the advantage? I don't see how that serve could have any weird spin, what effect can have in the trayectory of the ball to grab the racquet with both hands? All I can think of is lower power.

It might throw your timing off at first. I played a guy with a really weird toss this summer and it took me a while to time my split step with the unorthodox toss.
