Two top female tennis players scared of playing Serena Williams

Maria Sharapova, I will give her the benefit of the doubt, she pulled out of the Brisbane International at the beginning of the event saying her collar bone is injuried. However, Victoria Azarenka just pulled out of her semifinal against Serena Williams less than half an hour before the match started. The Brisbane fans are furious, the Australian media think she's lying, and the the fans want a refund. Azarenka has a 1-11 record against Serena Williams by the way. Azarenka says she is so injured that she will be on the court tomorrow. I think Azarenka and her team are lying and the WTA should investigate. Azarenka by the way played Serena five times last year and lost all five times. It is interesting, how intimidated the so called world number one is, of Serena that she should stoop so low and create a pedicure injury just so she wouldn't have to face her before a grand slam. I am glad the Australian media are cynical about Azarenka's so called injury she's lying or she's definitely exaggering her injury. If Azarenka's toe is so injured why did she say she's going to be on court tomorrow? Give me a break these chicks are so intimidated by Serena Williams they will think of any injury excuse so they won't have to play her unless necessary.

Also, can you imagine if Serena pulled out half an hour before a high profile tennis match? Actually, I can imagine it happened in 2001 at Indian Wells when Serena had to play Venus and we all know what happened in Indian Wells. Venus pulled out of their match it wasn't even Serena who pulled out yet the country club set in Indian Wells tried to to make her day a living hell but Serena won the event anyway. It is interesting the different standards there are for tennis players depending on their racial background. All you need to do is check You Tube to see what happened.

How the hell are all these women half a foot taller than Serena hitting serves half the speed of Serena? Don't give me that crap about Serena being strong, Ms. Williams is merely average build for a black woman, and she certainly ain't no powerlifter.

I just wanna see some woman bigger, stronger, taller, faster and infinitely more powerful than Serena beat her into submission and completely dominate her in front of her home crowd. Man that would be nice to see.

You will have to wait a while to see that buddy. If Serena is healthy and motivated she is five million miles ahead of the WTA Tour she is just that supreme.

And the joke is Serena is thirty one years old, a woman Serena's age is supposed to be vulnerable to the younger generation yet Serena has proven again and again she is mentally tougher and superior to her so called rivals.

Tell the other ladies on the WTA to learn how to serve a tennis ball and not just spin it in at 100 miles per hour.

Serena has dominated three generations on the WTA Tour. All of Serena's so called rivals except her sister Venus have retired or faded away. Justine Henin, Kim Clijsters, Lindsay Davenport, Jennifer Capriati, Amelie Mauresmo, Martina Hingis, are retired and gone. By the way Serena also has a winning record against ALL her RIVALS of her era.

OP: I do not think it is fear of being shamed on court as a top player. It is not uncommon for both women and men to pull out of events leading up to a major, as they want to get some practice in, but remain fresh for what they expect to be a battle where it counts most.

Serena is just that good.

While she may do things from time to time that make me dislike her as a person I cannot discredit her talent and ability.

Shes been around for well over a decade and has pretty much been dominant on tour whenever she has put the effort in.
