  3. Black Code 4S 16 (1.30)- 9.2
  4. Cyclone 18L (1.15)- 9.0
  5. Cyclone Tour 16 (1.30)- 8.7

The top 5 Slipperiest strings
  1. Poly Power Pro 16 (1.30)
  2. Wilson Revolve 16 (1.30)
  3. Ultra Cable 17 (1.23)
  4. Babolat Origin 17
  5. Gamma iO soft 15L

The top 5 Grippiest strings

I have number 1 and number 5 in two of my frames currently. I think the non tour version of Volkl Cyclone 16 is better than both in the spin department. The TW numbers are a great guide but have not always matched my experience on court.

Quoted for truth!

The Tec Black Code 4S, while spinny, doesn't really belong in Top 5.

Although I have not tried it, I don't think Ultra Cable is twice as spinny as Volkl V-Torque or Lux ALU Spin.

Some of those numbers are just absurd.

The string that suits your racquet and strokes the most will produce the most spin for you. I am playing more spin with Wilson Revolve than with most shaped strings.

Two sides of spin potential

Grippy and slippery.

For me, I always use grippy mains and slippery crosses.

For me, grippy mains is more important than slippery crosses
because I generate most of my spin with my strokes, not with my equipment.

Whenever I use a slippery mains/crosses, I feel there is no bite.
But when I use grippy mains, I can feel it.
I can also see the ball itself spinning much faster.

Have tried 1,2 & 5 and would agree they are among the most spin-friendly of all strings. Ultra Cable, when freshly strung produces the sickest spin I've ever managed to generate.

Why is Cyclone Tour 16g have more spin than the 17g or 18g. I thought that the thinner the gauge the more spin?

Just from a mathematical formula based on string-to-string friction and string-to-ball friction coefficients.

Not based on playtests. Your mileage will surely vary.
