Lately I have been looking at Wilson BLX Six One 95, however I cannot tell the difference between few... how come even when they are 95, stringing pattern is 16x18 and some 18x20? Is it because they may have been manufactured during different year?

Some guy locally selling used but almost new for $95, and was wondering if Wilson BLX Six.One 95 16x18 was a decent price? And, then I saw another listing where another guy selling the 18x20, slightly scratched, both for $100?

The 16x18 pattern is more open. You will get more power, and spin but possibly not as much control. It will also break strings faster. The 18x20 patter will give you more control and the strings will last longer.

Well the "normal" 6.1 95 has been available in both 16x18 and 18x20 over some time. Into the bargain now (2012) has come the Pro Staff 6.1 95, which has a 16x19 pattern. The Pro Staff is also considerably lighter and easier to swing.

All three versions are updated for 2012 with "amplifeel". I'm guessing the ones on sale are the standard BLX versions, without amplifeel.. Nothing wrong with that though. Search for topics regarding blx vs amplifeel if you need others opinions on which is best...

I like the 18x20 more because I'm confident in my ability to create my own power. I use the newer 6.1 (the red/white one with amplifeel), I got two of them each for $100 (new).

I had taken the red/white for a test drive and I did like the feel of it. How did you manage to get the red/white for $100/each? Aren't the used ones for $139-149?

I was switching from 6.1 Tour BLX so I tested both versions of new BLX 2012 95s - 16x18 and 18x20. I'm looking for control, so I decided to stay with 18x20. My feelings were that volleys are slightly better played with 18x20 than 16x18. I play from baseline often, but after few games it's not a problem too. Very nice racquet. I added Wilson Premium Leather, cut it properly (not whole handle), so weight is the same as in 6.1 Tour - 355g. I think I'll stay with that frame for a long time ;)
