U.S Open second round - Feliciano Lopez vs

A good second round matchup now setup is Feliciano Lopez vs Igor Andreev. Lopez has played some good ball this summer, and his win in the first round here at the U.S Open was his 2nd win over Ferrero this summer, the other on clay in Stuttgart. Igor Andreev's year highlight was his first ever slam quarterfinal at the French Open, but he has been fairly quiet since then.

These 2 guys have played twice, Lopez winning both on clay in 2004 and 2005, probably the favorite surface for both. Lopez is known for his big left serve and big lefty forehand. Andreev for his huge forehand and speed around the court.

this shouldnt be close on hard courts

i saw both these guys in Miami (not that their form 5 months ago matters) - Andreev got blown out by Querrey and looked terrible. Lopez destroyed Safin and played amazing. Thats how it usually is on hards for these 2. Lopez in 3, probably not even 1 tiebreaker

I think it will be closer then that. I think Lopez in 4. I agree he is the better hard court player, but Andreev has beaten Roddick on hard courts so he is not clueless on hard courts.

Perhaps Andreev, but certainly not Feli. Don't let his nationality fool you...he isn't as in love with the red stuff as his fellow countrymen. That's why his SF's run in Stuttgart was so amazing.

I want Feli to win, and he definitely can. But I like Andreev as well. I hope it's a good match.
