U.S. Open's Arthur Ashe Stadium to have a roof!

In that case, maybe they should get one for Court Philippe Chatrier too?

No, they should add an irrigation system to that court. I still remember Novak pulling eight straight games in 2012 and the Nadal corner called a stop to the fight

Is it wind-proof? We don't Murray winning it agai- I mean any more hurricane interrupted play ;)

Haha, no we wouldn't want that!
Also, a roof could risk the chance of Federer cheating himself to another title with the aid of technology, just as he did at Wimbledon 2012. Courtesy of suresh ;)

Wrong, Nadal asked why are we stopping now, it's been like this for an hour?

Personally I think it's a rather interesting edition to the U.S.O. There may may be less rain delayed matches and it joins Wimbledon and the Australian Open in having roofed stadiums.

Good news for Nole.

Should the roof be completed and go as planned, in a match where the roof is closed, it could give some players an edge or advantage and would give interesting match- ups.

I think most players are better indoors. The real factor is how LITTLE good players are affected outdoors.

It seems strange that it is taking so long for a roof for the USO...

U.S. Open's Arthur Ashe Stadium to have a roof/old news

It's taking so long for Arthur Ashe because the stadium is an architectural disaster and is both very hard and expensive to cover. IMO opinion they should have razed it.

I suppose people are always balancing cost against history...
